Believe it or not, we are already entering Week 5 of the fantasy football season and what a wild ride it's been thus far. At the wide receiver position, the only top tier players living up to the hype have been Reggie Wayne, Larry Fitzgerald and Terrell Owens, while the likes of Randy Moss, Braylon Edwards, Andre Johnson, T.J.Houshmandzadeh and Torry Holt have been a huge disappointment. Instead of dwelling over the failures of expected prized possessions you should be doing everything in your power to either make trades or work the waiver wire to make the most of your fantasy squad. In fact, just about every week a new wide receiver becomes a hot commodity on the waiver wire and if you are lucky enough to find that gem it could make your season.
With that in mind, we bring to you the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 5 Wide Receiver Rankings. Make sure to read these from top to bottom, because if you're in a bind and you need a good plug-n-play option the Bruno Boys just might have the right guys targeted.
-------------------
1. Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) @ Houston
No team is better than the Colts the week after a bye, as Indianapolis has scored 105 points over the past three years once coming off a bye. As for Wayne, he has 377 receiving yards and two touchdowns during those games and with the Colts addressing offensive efficiency during the layoff don't be surprised if Wayne has his best games of the season while visiting the Texans.
Point Projection: 18 points
-------------------
2. Brandon Marshall (Denver Broncos) vs. Tampa Bay
It's to the point in which we don't even have to write an analysis as to why we like Brandon Marshall each week. The guy can play, flat out, and he should have no problem getting his fantasy points this week (or any week) even if teams start double teaming him like the Kansas City Chiefs did in Week 4. Greg Jennings was fresh off torching the Buccaneers secondary for 100+ receiving yards and two scores, so Marshall should have no problem going over the century mark and finding the end zone for the fourth straight week.
Point Projection: 17 points
-------------------
3. Terrell Owens (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Cincinnati
Despite a season high 17 targets in Week 4, Owens was limited to just seven receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. Still good numbers, but with the amount of passes thrown his way, you expect more out of Owens. This led to T.O. complaining about how Tony Romo is distributing the football and Owens letting the media know about his frustrations. Usually when T.O. talks people listen, so expect Romo to be on point in Week 5.
Point Projection: 17 points
-------------------
4. Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers) vs. Kansas City
When Jake Delhomme hit Steve Smith for a 56 yard touchdown pass right before the half in Week 4, it officially declared Smith "back" in the eyes of the Bruno Boys. Plus, the speedster is averaging over five yards per reception more from this year to last and despite the Chiefs giving up just three passing touchdowns on the season we feel Smith could escape deep again. Reason being, the Chiefs (four sacks in 4 games) front four has failed to bring the heat, which means Delhomme should have plenty of time to let Smith get open down field.
Point Projection: 16 points
-------------------
5. Greg Jennings (Green Bay Packers) vs. Atlanta
Last season, Jennings was just a touchdown threat. This season, he has used his speed, good hands and improved route running to his advantage as he leads the NFL in receiving yards and is second in yards per game. Look for Jennings to have a field day against unproven corner-backs Brent Grimes and Chris Houston en route to his fourth straight double-digit fantasy game.
Point Projection: 16 points
-------------------
6. Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Buffalo
Fitz has gone over 100 receiving yards in each of the last three games and is averaging 103.8 receiving yards per contest on the season. The Cardinals match-up against the 6th ranked Buffalo Bills pass defense will be the toughest challenge of the season for Fitz and company, but with Anquan Boldin's status in doubt you can expect quarterback Kurt Warner to be targeting his go-to receiver on just about every play in Week 5.
Point Projection: 16 points
-------------------
7. Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions) vs. Chicago
So the Lions organization might be in shambles, but this doesn't mean that Johnson can't produce as a high end WR1. Once again, the Chicago Bears (246.5 passing yards allowed per game) passing defense is towards the bottom of the league and despite being solid corner-backs, both Charles Tillman and Nathan Vasher will have trouble defending "Megatron."
Point Projection: 16 points
-------------------
8. Randy Moss (New England Patriots) @ San Francisco
Don't give up on Moss just yet. Yes, quarterback Matt Cassel has failed to get Moss (6 receptions over past two games) the football on a regular basis but with match-ups against a banged up 49ers secondary in Week 5, San Diego (276 passing yards allowed per game) in Week 6, Denver (9 passing TDs allowed) in Week 7 and St. Louis (7 passing TDs allowed) in Week 8, Moss should have no problem getting back on track.
Point Projection: 15 points
-------------------
9. Lee Evans (Buffalo Bills) @ Arizona
Evans is off to the best start of his career and last weeks touchdown reception was the first time in his five year career that he has scored before Week 5. We know the Cardinals passing defense statistics are skewed by the bad showing against the New York Jets, but Evans has been getting behind defenses at least once a week and nothing should change here.
Point Projection: 15 points
-------------------
10. Santana Moss (Washington Redskins) @ Philadelphia
Moss has been the biggest surprise of any receiver in all of football this year and he has no one but head coach Jim Zorn to thank for his early season success. The west coast offense plays well with Moss' style of play and quarterback Jason Campbell has been hitting his speedster in stride en route to 421 receiving yards in four games. The Eagles have been giving up just 191 passing yards per game, but they have allowed six passing touchdowns and Moss should make it four of 5 games with a TD.
Point Projection: 14 points
-------------------
11. Santonio Holmes (Pittsburgh Steelers) @ Jacksonville
Finally! Is what Santonio Holmes owners yelled when he caught a pass over the middle and turned it into a 38 yard touchdown catch. With the Steelers down to their 4th string running backs because of injury, you can expect Big Ben to attack the Jaguars defense through the air and Holmes will benefit from this. He scored on a 37 yard reception in the '07 playoffs against Jacksonville, and should be able to do it again in 2008.
Point Projection: 14 points
-------------------
12. Marvin Harrison (Indianapolis Colts) @ Houston
Before the bye week Harrison got the touchdown monkey off his back and now it's time for him to find his groove. Just two years ago Harrison was a can't miss WR1, now we field questions if he should be dropped for the likes of Matt Jones and Antonio Bryant! Well, us Bruno Boys are here to tell you that Harrison should be a mainstay on your roster and we will go as far to predict that he plays 16 games in 2008 and finishes the season as a top 20 wide receiver. Expect him to reach his career averages against the Texans in Week 5.
Point Projection: 13 points
-------------------
13. T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Dallas
After a big Week 3, Houshmandzadeh was limited to just 50 receiving yards in Week 4, but his six receptions are still noteworthy. This ranking is based on Carson Palmer under center, but his status is still in question so you need to plan accordingly. Still, if Ryan Fitzpatrick is the quarterback for the Bengals, Houshmandzadeh is a WR2 play, as the Bengals will be trailing early and will have to play catch-up throughout.
Point Projection: 13 points
-------------------
14. Lance Moore (New Orleans Saints) vs. Minnesota
When Marques Colston was injured in Week 1 it opened the door for any of the Saints receivers to become the go-to option in New Orleans. We thought it would be David Patten, however, over the past two weeks it's been Moore. The undrafted receiver out of Toledo, has 30 fantasy points over the past two weeks and should be able to find open space against a Vikings defense that ranks in the middle of the pack against the pass.
Point Projection: 13 points
-------------------
15. DeSean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. Washington
To say that Jackson has been a savior to the Philadelphia Eagles passing game can be considered an understatement. Expected to start the season in the slot, injuries to Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown forced Jackson into being an every down receiver and he has taken it with stride. His 327 receiving yards rank 8th amongst NFL receivers and he has been the backbone behind the Eagles early success. Regardless if the Eagles return to full health at WR, Jackson is turning into a must play at this stage of the season.
Point Projection: 12 points
-------------------
16. Bernard Berrian (Minnesota Vikings) @ New Orleans
For weeks us Bruno Boys have done nothing but bag on Berrian and his lack of skills, but with Gus Frerotte taking over at quarterback Berrian has turned it up a notch. He has 157 receiving yards over the past two weeks and should be able to put together his third straight solid performance against the 29th ranked New Orleans Saints pass defense. In fact we are so confident that we predict Berrian finds the end zone for the first time as a Purple People Eater.
Point Projection: 12 points
-------------------
17. Hines Ward (Pittsburgh Steelers) @ Jacksonville
The Ravens did an excellent job of containing Hines Ward in Week 4, but it was his 49 reception late in the game that kept a drive alive and led to a late Steelers field goal. In the 2007 playoff match-up against Jacksonville, Ward had ten receptions for 135 receiving yards and with the Jaguars struggling against the pass you can expect 65+ receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 5.
Point Projection: 12 points
-------------------
18. Amani Toomer (New York Giants) vs. Seattle
Even with the suspension to Plaxico Burress you still know what you are going to get from Toomer. More often than not, Toomer is a good bet to gain between 50-70 receiving yards and nothing changes in Week 5. However, he should see an increased amount of targets around the red zone, which means we like his chances to find pay dirt.
Point Projection: 11 points
-------------------
19. Chris Chambers (Miami Dolphins) @ Miami
It's usually not a good thing when 50 percent of your receptions have gone for touchdowns, but the Chargers lead the league in points scored and Chambers (24.5 yards per catch) is a touchdown threat on a weekly basis. With the Miami Dolphins allowing six passing TD's in just 3 games, expect Chambers to have a typical 40 receiving yard and TD afternoon.
Point Projection: 10 points
-------------------
20. Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) @ Green Bay
At the start of the season many of us where afraid that rookie quarterback Matt Ryan wasn't going to be able to get White the football, but that hasn't been the case through the seasons first month. White has seen a steady increase in his reception totals from week to week and his 16 targets in Week 4 is a true indicator that the Falcons are relying on their big play wide receiver. He will be taking on proven cover corner Charles Woodson, but we feel White should beat him once or twice.
Point Projection: 9 points
-------------------
21. Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City Chiefs) @ Carolina
Bowe is a gifted receiver and if he played on the right offense he would be thought of as a top 10 fantasy option at the wide receiver position. Instead, he is stuck on a Chiefs passing offense that totals just 166.8 passing yards per game, but this doesn't faze Bowe. He has at least eight fantasy points in all 4 games, leads the NFL in targets with 46 and is becoming a staple in many fantasy lineups across the world. Start him if you own him!
Point Projection: 9 points
-------------------
22. Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) vs. Indianapolis
Johnson has been a major disappointment to the Houston Texans fans and his fantasy owners in 2008, but after a tough match-up against a Colts defense that has yet to surrender a passing touchdown, his schedule lightens up. After the Colts, Johnson faces the Dolphins, Lions, Bengals and Vikings from Week 6-9. If he can't turn it up a notch against weaker opponents, start worrying.
Point Projection: 8 points
-------------------
23. Wes Welker (New England Patriots) @ San Francisco
Despite the absence of Tom Brady, Welker has still been a reception machine, having hauled in 19 receptions in just three games. Facing a San Francisco 49ers defense that allowed 363 passing yards in Week 4, you'd expect the Patriots to come out throwing the football. Welker looks to make a good yardage play, but he has been unheard of in the red zone this year and until the Patriots find their groove you can't expect him to be a double-digit fantasy performer.
Point Projection: 8 points
-------------------
24. Eddie Royal (Denver Broncos) vs. Tampa Bay
Just when we though that Eddie Royal was becoming second fiddle in the Broncos offense, he has nine receptions for 104 receiving yards in Week 4. With teams starting to roll double coverage over to Brandon Marshall you can expect Royal to take full advantage of single coverage on a weekly basis. Tampa Bay (7 passing TD's allowed) has been average against the pass, so you can expect Royal have another solid yardage day and he should be used as a low end WR2 in Week 5.
Point Projection: 8 points
-------------------
25. Roy Williams (Detroit Lions) vs. Chicago
Maybe Williams was right when he said that he has turned into a role player in the Lions offense. If you do a quick stat comparison from '07 to '08 you will notice that Williams has 12 less receptions, 224 less receiving yards and 2 less touchdowns after three games. This is not good news for his owners, nor is his match-up against a Chicago Bears defense that has limited him in years past.
Point Projection: 8 points
-------------------
26. Deion Branch (Seattle Seahawks) @ New York Giants
The good news is that Branch has been practicing for more than a month, and taking hits in practice. He is ready to play this game and because of this the Seahawks expect him to play a full workload. The bad news is that his comeback is against the 5th rated New York Giants passing defense that is giving up less than 170 passing yards per game. With the limited amount of resources in Seattle, Branch should see a healthy dosage of targets, but don't expect him to have to be "golden" right out of the gates.
Point Projection: 8 points
-------------------
27. Isaac Bruce (San Francisco 49ers) vs. New England
Looks like Mr. Steady Eddy himself is starting to heat up. Bruce has scored a touchdown in two straight games, had a season high 8 targets in Week 4 and is starting to become a red zone favorite of quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan. The New England Patriots are stout against the pass, but we know the 49ers will be throwing the football, and Bruce is slowly growing into a solid play on a weekly basis. One more week with a TD, and we're sold!
Point Projection: 8 points
-------------------
28. Chad Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Dallas
Can you believe it, Chad Ocho Stinko finally scored a touchdown last week? Still, he would only muster eight fantasy points and failed to haul in over 30 receiving yards in a game for the 3rd time this season. With Carson Palmer hurting and a tough match-up against the Dallas Cowboys on the horizon you can't expect Ocho Stinko to play above WR3 status.
Point Projection: 7 points
-------------------
29. Vincent Jackson (San Diego Chargers) @ Miami
Inconsistent in years past, Jackson has turned into a regular lineup option through the seasons first month. He has at least five fantasy points in all 4 games and is on pace for a 60 reception, 984 receiving yard season. With the Chargers putting a greater emphasis on throwing the football in 2008, you can expect Jackson's numbers to continue to trend up. His Week 5 opponent, the Miami Dolphins, struggle against big physical wide receivers (see Larry Fitzgerald), so Jackson is a nice Week 5 option.
Point Projection: 7 points
-------------------
30. Domenik Hixon (New York Giants) vs. Seattle
With Plaxico Burress suspended for Week 5, Hixon will get his first true opportunity to show the New York Giants brass what he's all about. Known for his speed, Hixon has played sparingly in 2008, but does have six receptions on the season and all reports indicate that he should play a big role in the offense against the 25th ranked Seattle Seahawks pass defense. If the Plaxico suspension put you in a bind at the WR position, Hixon should do a good job of filling the void.
Point Projection: 7 points
-------------------
31. Matt Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Pittsburgh
Just three months ago Jones was on the verge of being released by Jacksonville after being arrested for possession of cocaine. Now, he is the leading receiver on a Jaguars offense that has been passing more often than not. Through four games, Jones has 21 receptions (only had 24 all of '07) and he has been targeted 31 times. His Week 5 match-up against a tough Steelers defense isn't ideal, but Jones should see enough targets to haul in 65-75 receiving yards.
Point Projection: 7 points
-------------------
32. Antonio Bryant (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Denver
Troubled past or not, Antonio Bryant is playing at another level this year. He has 17 receptions over the past three games and is averaging over 9 targets per game thus far. His Week 5 match-up against the Denver Broncos could lead to another solid showing from Bryant. Who would have though that a Broncos secondary that features Champ Bailey and Dre' Bly would be giving up 276 passing yards per game?
Point Projection: 7 points
-------------------
33. Muhsin Muhammad (Carolina Panthers) vs. Kansas City
In a blast from the past effort, Muhammad led all NFL receiver with 147 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 4. If you plucked him off your leagues waiver wire, use him as a WR3 if the match-up is right, but dont' expect "Moosh" to be hauling in 20 fantasy points on a weekly basis. Though, his match-up against a Chiefs secondary that allowed 361 passing yards in Week 4 is enough to plug him in as a decent yardage play this week.
Point Projection: 7 points
-------------------
34. Donald Driver (Green Bay Packers) vs. Atlanta
The usually reliable Driver had a small hiccup in game this past week when he had just one reception for 8 yards in a 30-21 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's safe to say that Greg Jennings has dethroned Driver as the top receiver in Green Bay, but the veteran has enough in the tank to be used as a WR3 against the Falcons. Even if quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't play, we feel Driver's value stays the same.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
35. Derrick Mason (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Tennessee
Just when we call Mason a 4-5 point fantasy option on a weekly basis, he goes out and puts together an eight reception for 137 receiving yard effort on Monday Night Football. If Joe Flacco continues to progress as a decision maker. Mason should benefit greatly from his growth. He might have showed us he still has some left in the tank in Week 4, but we aren't projecting anything more than WR3 value in standard leagues.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
36. Kevin Walter (Houston Texans) vs. Indianapolis
After being quiet in the Texans first 2 games, Walter single handedly might have saved quarterback Matt Schaub his job in Week 4. His eight receptions for 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a 30-27 overtime loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars marked the best game of his career and Schaub being under center for another week. With the Colts (143 passing yards per game, 0 passing TD's allowed) being stubborn against the pass you can expect anything but yardage out of Walter.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
37. Patrick Crayton (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Cincinnati
After hauling in just two receptions in Week 2 & 3, Crayton bounced back for 87 receiving yards last week. The Bengals rank 3rd in the NFL against the pass, but they have yet to face a passing offense that has the weapons that Dallas possesses, so Crayton should be able to match-up well with corner-back Jonathan Joseph.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
38. Robert Meachem (New Orleans Saints) vs. Minnesota
In Week 4, Meachem had two receptions for 99 receiving yards and a touchdown and the Saints have started to design specific plays to get Meachem more involved in offense. Plus, you can't overlook his 40.8 yard per reception average on the season. If targeted on a regular basis, Meachem could work his way until a weekly option as your third wide receiver.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
39. Reggie Brown (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. Washington
After being held without a catch in Week 3, Brown had a good bounce back game finishing with 79 receiving yards on six receptions. On top of that, Brown has played well against Washington in his career, having four touchdowns in 6 career games. The Redskins have struggled against the pass this year, so Brown could surprise as a WR3.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
40. Steve Breaston (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Buffalo
With Anquan Boldin's status uncertain heading into Week 5, Breaston should see an increased role in the high powered Cardinals passing game. Last week, Breaston (9 receptions for 122 receiving yards) had a career day, but this week's match-up against the Buffalo Bills (186 passing yards against per game) shouldn't be easy. If you're a Boldin owner, consider Breaston as a fill-in, but expect between 60-70 receiving yards from the second year pro.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
41. Anthony Gonzalez (Indianapolis Colts) @ Houston
Until Marvin Harrison retires or suffers another setback, it will be tough to project the value of Gonzalez on a weekly basis. Some weeks he will go for double-digit fantasy points, while others he will be held in check. The Houston Texans rank 5th in the league against the pass, but Gonzalez should be a decent yardage play as the Colts have torched Houston through the air over the years.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
42. Justin Gage (Tennessee Titans) @ Baltimore
After missing Week 3 because of a groin injury, Gage returned in Week 4 and had five receptions for 92 receiving yards in a winning cards. However, his Week 5 match-up against the Ravens isn't ideal, as Baltimore allows just 136.7 passing yards per game. Still, Gage seems to be the go-to target for quarterback Kerry Collins, making him an option to consider.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
43. Josh Reed (Buffalo Bills) @ Arizona
With his consistent play and increased role in the offense, Reed has been climbing up the Bruno Boys wide receiver rankings on a weekly basis. His Week 4 showing against the Rams was somewhat pedestrian, but facing a Arizona Cardinals pass defense that allowed six passing touchdowns in a single game is enough to consider Reed as your WR3 or flex option.
Point Projection: 6 points
-------------------
44. Greg Camarillo (Miami Dolphins) vs. San Diego
We are in the final stages of having Camarillo join us on a future Bruno Boys podcast and we must admit that we are intrigued by his play of late. He has emerged as the Dolphins most reliable receiver and should factor into the offense against a San Diego Chargers defense that allows 292 passing yards per game.
Point Projection: 5 points
-------------------
45. Steve Smith (New York Giants) vs. Seattle
Before the New York Giants bye week, Smith had 7 receptions for 60 receiving yards he should see an increased amount of targets with Plaxico Burress being suspended for Week 5. Still, we expect Manning to spread the football around and because of this his value stays right around the same. Use him as a plug-n-play option.
Point Projection: 5 points
-------------------
46. Brandon Stokley (Denver Broncos) vs. Tampa Bay
Last week, Stokley had seven catches for 80 receiving yards in his best showing of the season and until the Broncos passing attack slows down he should be considered as a bye week fill-in. On paper the Buccaneers passing defense looks good, but they have allowed seven passing touchdowns and 940 passing yards in just 4 games.
Point Projection: 5 points
-------------------
47. Arnaz Battle (San Francisco 49ers) vs. New England
Through three games, Battle had just eight total receptions but in a Week 4 loss Battle hauled in seven receptions for 120 receiving yards. To expect a repeat performance in Week 5 is a stretch, but with the 49ers spreading the football around Battle is in line for between 45-55 receiving yards.
Point Projection: 5 points
-------------------
48. Bobby Wade (Minnesota Vikings) @ New Orleans
Wade has 13 receptions since Week 2 and topped that off with a seven reception, 75 receiving yard performance in Week 4. Facing a pass defense that ranks 29th in the league in the New Orleans Saints, Wade should be able to create separation and have another solid showing in PPR leagues.
Point Projection: 5 points
-------------------
49. Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Cincinnati
Austin has found pay dirt in each of the Cowboys last two games, but with Terrell Owens complaining about wanting the ball more who knows what to expect from Austin in Week 5. Plus,Patrick Crayton had a big Week 4 so you might be better off waiting one more week to see if he is the real deal or a flash in the pan.
Point Projection: 4 points
-------------------
50. Bobby Engram (Seattle Seahawks) @ New York Giants
First week of full practice, Seahawks are unsure of how healthy he will be throughout the contest. Limit the expectations in Week 5, but snag him if you need depth at WR, as he was a top 25 option before injury.
Point Projection: 4 points
-------------------
51. Antwaan Randle El (Washington Redskins) @ Philadelphia
The pickings get slim as you leave the top 50, but there's still some value to be found. Just look at Randle El, who is averaging 4.5 receptions per game and caught his first TD of the year in a Week 4 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. These NFC East battles tend to involve a lot of offense, so Randle El could once again sneak up and have a solid week.
Point Projection: 4 points
-------------------
52. David Patten (New Orleans Saints)
Despite reports indicating otherwise, Patten was active for the Saints week 4 match-up against the San Francisco 49ers; however, it appears the wide out may have come back a bit too early as he re-injured his groin in the game, ending his day with just 1 catch for 21 yards. Patten may very well give it a go again this Sunday, but we advise you to steer clear until Patten shows he's 100%.
Point Projection: 4 points
-------------------
53. Ted Ginn Jr. (Miami Dolphins) vs. San Diego
In 3 games this season, Ginn has registered just 5 total fantasy points as the Dolphins have been ineffective in the passing game. But, if Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams continue to cause opposing defenses problems like they did in week 3 against the Patriots, the Dolphins may find throwing the ball a whole lot easier as teams will be forced to stack the box. Perhaps, that's why Ginn has his best fantasy outing in week 3.
Point Projection: 4 points
------------------
54. Ike Hilliard (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Denver
Through 4 weeks of play, the wily vet leads all Bucs receivers with 27 fantasy points; unfortunately, Jon Gruden doesn't play fantasy football and moved Michael Clayton ahead of Hilliard on the team's depth chart prior to week 4. Clayton though hasn't been impressive, so that move may not last. The Bucs have a solid match-up against a Broncos pass defense that ranks 31st in the league.
Point Projection: 4 points
-------------------
55. Antonio Chatman (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Dallas
Chatman's fantasy relevance all depends on whether the Bengals decide to activate troubled, wide receiver, Chris Henry this week against the Cowboys. If they do, Chatman's name more than likely won't be mentioned the rest of the year in fantasy circles. If they don't, Chatman gets one more chance to have fantasy impact, but with Carson Palmer's elbow acting up, we don't think the impact will be all that big.
Point Projection: 4 points
-------------------
56. Rashied Davis (Chicago Bears) @ Detroit
Against a Lions Defense that 222.7 passing yards per game and 6 passing TDs in 3 games, Davis has a shot at blowing his previous production out of the water. Sadly, that previous production is an average of 2.25 fantasy points per game.
Point Projection: 4 points
-------------------
57. Devin Hester (Chicago Bears) @ Detroit
Bruised ribs and all, Hester had his most productive as a wide receiver this season in Da' Bears week 4 match-up with the Philadelphia Eagles, going for 27 yards and a score. Still, we'd wait until he's a consistent cog in the Bears' offensive game plan before using him in our fantasy line-ups.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
58. Devery Henderson (New Orleans Saints) vs. Minnesota
Henderson posted 80+ receiving yards for the second time this season in week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers, but like his first time reaching that mark it all came on one catch. He's a boom or bust play.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
59. Michael Clayton (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Denver
With Jon Gruden naming Clayton the starter opposite Antonio Bryant this past Sunday, it appears the Bucs will do anything to get this wide receiver to produce. It's just too bad they can't catch the ball for him. When Galloway returns, Clayton should return to his wide receiver four duties.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
60. Bryant Johnson (San Francisco 49ers) vs. New England
A hurting hamstring limited Johnson this past Sunday, causing the receiver to end the 49ers trip to New Orleans without a catch. He should be healthier in week 5 against the Patriots, but hamstring injuries are never good news for wide outs. See how Johnson does in week 5 before inserting him into your line-ups again.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
61. D.J. Hackett (Carolina Panthers) vs. Kansas City
With Jake Delhomme getting reacquainted with both Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad, it has left little time for the QB to get to know DJ Hackett. With Steve Smith back on the field, Hackett has seen just 6 targets in 2 weeks, a number he hit in both games Smith was suspended for.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
62. Jordy Nelson (Green Bay Packers) vs. Atlanta
It was believed that the Packers would have three solid wide outs this season, and it appears they do; however, the wide receiver 3 in the picture is not who people expected. With James Jones battling injury, Jordy Nelson has stepped it up, especially over the last two weeks in which he's hauled in a combined 8 passes.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
63. Jerry Porter (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Pittsburgh
Porter made his Jaguars debut against the Houston Texans in week 4, though it may be a game he soon forgets as he hauled in just one pass for 6 yards. Missing time early in the season is never easy, especially when you're joining a new team. Look for Porter to get progressively better as the season wears on and he becomes more familiar with David Garrard and the Jaguars' offense.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
64. Justin McCareins (Tennessee Titans) @ Baltimore
As expected, with Justin Gage back in the line-up last Sunday, McCareins once again became the Titans' number 2 wide out. However, he still saw 10 targets as the Titans tried to move the ball through the air, rather than run through the Vikings tough rush D. While the Ravens also sport a stellar rush defense, don't expect more of the same from the Titans in week 5 as the Ravens also boast the best pass D in the league.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
65. Michael Jenkins (Atlanta Falcons) @ Green Bay
The good news is that Matt Ryan attempted 41 passes in the Falcons week 4 game, meaning Atlanta's not afraid to throw if the situation dictates it. The bad news is that he completed just 21 of those throws.
Point Projection: 3 points
-------------------
66. Shaun McDonald (Detroit Lions) vs. Chicago
It seems all of McDonald's fantasy value walked right out the door when Mike Martz left Detroit. While McDonald is still catching passes,10 receptions in three games, he has just 69 receiving yards to show for it.
Point Projection: 2 points
-------------------
67. Reggie Williams (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Pittsburgh
Last season, it was a crap shoot as to which Jaguars receiver would rule the day, but this year it's been fairly clear who the team's number one wide out is. And, if the fact that he's residing way down here in our rankings doesn't give you a hint, let me be frank and say, it's not Reggie Williams.
Point Projection: 2 points
-------------------
68. Nate Washington (Pittsburgh Steelers) @ Jacksonville
With Santonio Holmes, Hines Ward, and Heath Miller on the Steelers' roster, Washington receives limited targets each week, though he has been doing something with those targets recently, going for a combined 74 yards over the last two games.
Point Projection: 2 points
-------------------
69. Mark Clayton (Balitmore Ravens) vs. Tennessee
What do you get when you combine an underachieving wide receiver with a rookie quarterback? About 35 receiving yards over 3 weeks of football.
Point Projection: 2 points
-------------------
70. Marty Booker (Chicago Bears) @ Detroit
He did find pay dirt in week 4, but we can't trust a wide receiver that is averaging less than one reception a game this season.

WEEK 5 BYE WEEK WIDE RECEIVERS
Braylon Edwards (Cleveland Browns) - BYE
Ranked as the 4th best fantasy football wide receiver heading into 2008, Edwards is averaging 21 receiving yards per game and has just one touchdown. Hopefully the bye week helps this offense or else Edwards will go down as a big time bust!
--------------------
Jerricho Cotchery (New York Jets) - BYE
Cotchery isn't hauling in the receptions at the pace we thought he would, but his owners can't argue with his three touchdown receptions in 4 games. Those totals already surpass the two TD's he had in all of '07.
--------------------
Laveranues Coles (New York Jets) - BYE
After getting off to a slow start, Coles has 14 receptions for 180 receiving yards and four touchdowns over the last two games. It look like quarterback Brett Favre and Coles are on the same page after all.
--------------------
Torry Holt (St. Louis Rams) - BYE
Holt has lost a stepped or two, but he still plays at a high enough level to be producing better statistics than what the box scores show. If the Rams can't make an adjustment to their line, it could be a season full of mediocrity for Holt.
--------------------
Ashley Lelie/Javon Walker/Ronald Curry (Oakland Raiders) - BYE
If you own any of these guys, perhaps you should just quit?
