Fantasy Football Week 10 Rankings - Kickers

We are heading into Week 10 of the fantasy football season and chances are if you are still reading the Weekly Kicker Rankings you are in the heart of the playoff race. Making the right line-up call this time of the year is crucial as every point matters. You want to end the season with the best record possible, while scoring the most points you can. Don’t lose out on the playoffs because you lost a couple of points by not making the right move. Every position is key in fantasy football, including the kicker.

The Bruno Boys have preached all season that the kicker position is not as sexy as the skilled positions, but it is equally important. As you prepare your Week 10 line-up, please enjoy the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 10 Kicker Rankings.

--------------------

1. Mason Crosby (Green Bay Packers) @ Minnesota

Mason Crosby quietly has 68 points on the season, hitting for double digit points in half of the Packers' eight games, including two of their last 3. Maybe it’s time to start noticing Crosby again! Expect a better performance than the 6 point effort he had against the Vikes' back in week 1.
Point projection: 14 points

--------------------

2. Stephen Gostkowski (New England Patriots) vs. Buffalo

Stephen Gostkowski was one of the top two or three kickers to go off the board in most fantasy drafts this summer. The loss of QB Tom Brady had an effect on all Patriot players, but Gostkowski has been able to tread water with the QB out, sitting just 3 points shy of 2008's top fantasy kicker, John Carney. Gostkowski is doing it with his accuracy as he's 19 for 20 on FG attempts this season. He should be in for a big game at home against the Bills this week.
Point projection: 13 points

--------------------

3. Jason Elam (Atlanta Falcons) vs. New Orleans

Jason Elam has continued to climb these charts all season long. He has hit 17 of 19 FG attempts on the season and is in line for a big game in a potential shootout with the New Orleans Saints in Atlanta.
Point projection: 13 points

--------------------

4. Rob Bironas (Tennessee Titans) @ Chicago

Rob Bironas has also been a nice surprise this season. He too has connected on 17 of his 19 FG attempts as the Titans have managed to go 8-0 through the first half of their season. The Titans will face a solid defense in Chicago in Week 10, but with a solid running game the Titans will once again be able to manage many scoring chances for Bironas.
Point projection: 12 points

--------------------

5. Nate Kaeding (San Diego Chargers) vs. Kansas City

Nate Kaeding came into the season projected as one of the top fantasy kickers in the league. While he may not have lived up to that billing through 8 games, he still has been solid, tallying 67 fantasy points on the year. He has kicked for 11+ points in four separate games this season and another double-digit performance should be expected against the Chiefs.
Point projection: 12 points

--------------------

6. Neil Rackers (Arizona Cardinals) vs. San Francisco

Neil Rackers would rank higher most weeks, but the Cardinals offense is so efficient they don’t settle for too many FG attempts. He has hit 11 of his 13 FG attempts and has hit all 25 extra points. Rackers should have a nice week as the Cardinals showcase their offense on Monday night versus the 49ers, a team Rackers has already gone for double digits against once this season.
Point projection: 11 points

--------------------

7. John Kasay (Carolina Panthers) @ Oakland

How will the Panthers do traveling from the East coast to the West coast this week as they travel to Oakland? Pretty good, seeing as how the Falcons had no trouble with the trip last week. Kasay should get a good deal of early opportunities, but he'll be hurt a bit by the Panthers running out of the clock in the second half.
Point projection: 11 points

--------------------

8. Robbie Gould (Chicago Bears) vs. Tennessee

The surprising Bears offense hasn’t offerred a lot of field goal attempts to Gould, but Kyle Orton is injured and Rex Grossman is back at the helm. This should lead to more stalled drives, which means more FG attempts for Gould.
Point projection: 11 points

--------------------

9. Joe Nedney (San Francisco 49ers) @ Arizona

Even with questions at quarterback, with Shaun Hill taking over, the running game should be good enough to get the Niners into FG range. Joe Nedney has been solid this season with 73 fantasy points in eight games.
Point projection: 11 points

--------------------

10.  David Akers (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. NY Giants

David Akers is another kicker quietly having a real nice season. He is a must start kicker, even against a tough Giants defense. Akers is 19 of 23 on FG attempts, with 23 extra points this season, good for 79 fantasy points, second in the league.
Point projection: 10 points

--------------------

11. Josh Scobee (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Detroit

The Jaguars haven’t offered as many kicking attempts as some might have expected ,and the Detroit defense has played moderately better of late, but Scobee is still worth a start against the Lions, who despite their better play of late are still giving up an average of 29.9 points a game.
Point projection: 10 points

--------------------

12.  Ryan Longwell (Minnesota Vikings) vs. Green Bay

Ryan Longwell has scored 71 points on the season, but he does not get enough consistent attempts. He has only hit for double digits three times on the season, but if you need him he is worth starting as the Vikings are a much better offense than the one that helped him out up 7 fantasy points in week 1 against Green Bay.
Point projection: 10 points

--------------------

13.  John Carney (New York Giants) @ Philadelphia

John Carney has only missed 1 field goal on the season and that one was blocked. He as hit for double digits in five of eight games this season and should come close again against a tough Philly defense. It's a telling sign as to how good Carney has been that the Giants have continued to use him despite Lawrence Tynes' return from injury.
Point projection: 10 points

--------------------

14.  Dan Carpenter (Miami) vs. Seattle

After not hitting the double digit plateau through his first 6 games as an NFL kicker, Carpenter has made it two straight weeks with 12+ fantasy points. The Dolphins have impressed this season with their turnaround, something that should continue as they'll hand the Seahawks a pretty big loss in week 10.
Point projection: 10 points

--------------------

15.  Matt Stover (Baltimore Ravens) @ Houston

Matt Stover has scored 9 or more points in each of his last three games. Against a Texans' tema that has given up 26.6 points a game this season, we like his chances to do it again in week 10.
Point projection: 9 points

--------------------

16. Josh Brown (St. Louis Rams) @ New York Jets

If Steven Jackson’s health weren’t such an issue right now, Josh Brown would be ranked even higher. He had hit 10 or more fantasy points in his last three games before his 1 point effort last week.
Point projection: 9 points

--------------------

17. Matt Prater (Denver Broncos) @ Cleveland

Denver will face the Browns for a Thursday night match-up. Matt Prater started the season hot, but has been slowed of late. He has scored 6 points or less in three straight games. He should top that this week against the Browns, but not by too much.
Point projection: 9 points

--------------------

18.  Phil Dawson (Cleveland Browns) vs. Denver

The Broncos haven’t been exactly stopping anyone this season, giving up 27.6 points per game on average, so the Browns could get one of their best offensive showings this season. That makes Phil Dawson a solid bye week replacement.
Point projection: 8 points

--------------------

19.  Rian Lindell (Buffalo Bills) @ New England

Rian Lindell has had a solid season scoring 71 fantasy points through eight games; however, a match-up with division foe, New England Patriots, on the road sets up as a tough match-up for the Bills.
Point projection: 8 points

--------------------

20. Garrett Hartley  (New Orleans) @ Atlanta

With the Saints cutting Taylor Mehlhaff because of a missed extra point, Oklahoma kicker, Garrett Hartley, who went undrafted will get a chance to show his stuff. Hartley, who nailed 32 of 35 field goals in his junior and senior years, makes for a decent fantasy play as the Saints are a team that puts up points.
Point projection: 8 points

--------------------

21.  Jeff Reed (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Indianapolis

Reed has only hit double-digit points once this season, though he has had 4 other weeks with 8 or 9 fantasy points. He won't have you the big day, but a solid outing is usually safe to expect.
Point projection: 7 points

--------------------

22.  Kris Brown (Houston Texans) vs. Baltimore

Houston has rebounded from a slow start to the season winning three of their last four games, but Baltimore will pose a tough test in what should be a lower scoring game then the Texans have had lately. Keep Kris Brown reserved unless you don’t have a better option.
Point projection: 7 points

--------------------

23.  Jay Feely (New York Jets) vs. St. Louis

Jay Feely hit 4 of 5 FG attempts in Week 9 for 13 fantasy points. He is starting to earn himself consideration on fantasy rosters, though he's more of a fill-in play than a fantasy starter.
Point projection: 7 points

--------------------

24.  Olindo Mare (Seattle Seahawks) @ Miami

Injuries have plagued the Seahawks since before the season even started. All the team injuries have left Olindo Mare without enough kicks to warrant starting. Stay away until Hasselbeck returns - the mantra for all Seattle's offensive players.
Point projection: 6 points

--------------------

25.  Jason Hanson (Detroit Lions) vs. Jacksonville

Unfortunately playing for the Lions hurts Jason Hanson’s value, but the 17-year vet has shown a big leg this year. He has made 5 FG attempts over 50 yards and his only miss this season was on a slip on an extra point attempt.
Point projection: 6 points

--------------------

26.  Adam Vinatieri (Indianapolis Colts) @ Pittsburgh

This has not been the season that many of us were expecting from Adam Vinatieri. He only has 38 fantasy points on the season and has been a huge disappointment hitting only 6 of 9 FG attempts.
Point projection: 5 points

--------------------

27. Sebastian Janikowski (Oakland Raiders) vs. Carolina

You can’t count on Sebastian Janikowski based on how bad the Raiders are. He didn’t even see the field after the game's opening kick-off Week 9. He is not worthy of a roster spot, even with his big leg.
Point projection: 4 points

--------------------

28. Connor Barth (Kansas City) @ San Diego

Connor Barth quietly took over for Nick Novak in Week 8 and has totaled 15 points since then. The Chiefs still don’t have a great offense; so don’t expect big numbers against the Chargers.
Point projection: 4 points

--------------------

WEEK 10 BYE WEEK KICKERS

Shaun Suisham (Washington Redskins) – BYE

Shaun Suisham has been a fairly reliable kicker this season. He has hit for double digits in four of nine games this season. He is worth starting the rest of the way when the match-up is right.

--------------------

Shayne Graham (Cincinnati Bengals) – BYE

Shayne Graham has only missed one kick so far this season, but the problem is between injuries and a shaky Bengals offense, he does not have enough attempts to be a worthwhile fantasy option.

--------------------

Nick Folk (Dallas Cowboys) – BYE

Nick Folk may be the most disappointing kicker for fantasy owners this season. He started ranked as the top kicker by many at the start of the season, but has since become waiver wire fodder. Folk is not worthy of starting until the Cowboys turn things around, and who knows if they will turn things around this season.

--------------------

Matt Bryant (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – BYE

Matt Bryant is the anti-Nick Folk this season. Bryant started the season with low expectations and has turned into one of the best starting kicker options on a weekly basis. If you need a kicker after Week 10, take a chance on Bryant. He will not disappoint you.
