I think the weekend's hopes will hinge on the outcome of these propositional bets. These are provided for entertainment purposes only, unless you'd like to gamble illegally on them, in which case they are provided for that purpose. I'll be dropping some coin with my couch-mates before kickoff, and you could improve the quality of your weekend life by doing the same.

Patriots Coach Bill Belichik meets Dolphin emperor Bill Parcells in one of the best games of the weekend, and Belichik's brain is perhaps the most compelling thing to consider. On September 21, Miami unveiled the Wildcat formation against New England, and the Pats were carved up for 119 yards and 4 touchdowns on 6 plays. Now, after weeks of wildcat usage against the rest of the league, how much will Belichik be tested?

Total number of plays the Dolphins run out of the Wildcat against New England: O/U: 6

Give me the over...with continuous variations and endless possibilities, Miami continues to trot it out; it's a part of their identity.

How effective will that Wildcat be? Has Belichik figured it out?

Total number of Dolphins yards gained on plays from that formation: O/U: 50

Give me the under...the Pats can learn from what the Baltimore Ravens did in changing up the 3-4 scheme to deal with it; Belichik will not be embarrassed again. Patriots win.

There are several other great games in the league, including the Panthers in Atlanta. Atlanta's Michael Turner is 3rd in the league with 971 yards, and Carolina's running game has exploded, behind the great duo of Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams. The Panthers passing game has been brutal in the meantime though, as Jake Delhomme has completed a total of 17 passes in the last 2 games. My impressive math skills average that out to 8.5 per game, and that ain't gonna cut it.

Total number of passes completed for Carolina in Atlanta: O/U: 13

Give me the over, and a continued return to reality for the once division leading Falcons.

The Ravens run defense got embarrassed against the Giants last week, giving up 207 yards. It was the first time the Baltimore D gave up 200+ yards on defense since 1997. The Eagles are a nice panacea for that though, with their running game ranking 9th worst in all of football. Andy Reid is allergic to running the ball.

Total number of Eagles running yards against an angry Baltimore D: O/U: 70

Give me the under. Maybe the better question is what Donovan McNabb will embarrass himself by admitting he does not know...my money's on the tuck rule.

The undefeated Titans go for win #11 against the explosive Jets. Teams have shut down the Tennessee running game the last 2 weeks, but Kerry Collins has stepped up with back-to-back 100+ QB rating performances. He's never, in his long career, had 3 games of 100+ QB rating in a row. He'll surely be tested again and again the rest of the way...has he found some sort of newfound consistency?

Kerry Collins QB rating against the Jets in Nashville: O/U: 90

Give me the over. Collins will respond again, in another win, to perhaps officially enter his name into the MVP discussion.

The New York Giants were the recipients of the Team of The Moment on Wednesday, so you know I think they're the best in the game. The pass defense has been an oft-overlooked part of the equation, with their young and physical secondary holding opponents to 174 yards per game, 2nd best in the league. Now they get a fabulous test, at least for us fans, in Phoenix against the Cardinals' Kurt Warner and the best receivers in football. Warner may deliver a turnover or three, but you know he'll keep gunning.

Total number of passing yards for Arizona against the Giants: O/U: 300

Give me the over, as Warner will not be contained. The Cardinals pull the upset, in the NFC Championship game preview.

In the NBA, Greg Oden is playing, and hasn't been hurt all week long...awesome. I root for the guy to be healthy, because he's likeable, and because I want to see how good he might be. Saturday night, we get a match up that would be more fun if it were 4 years ago, but is still pretty damn cool - Oden vs. Shaq.

Total number of Greg Oden points and rebounds vs. Phoenix on Saturday: O/U: 15 and 10

Give me the under. Shaq is moving surprisingly well, and he'll be motivated to push the still gimpy Oden around with all his brawn. Love it.

Your little sister is losing her mind this weekend, with the arrival of a teen vampire movie to steal her heart. She's psyched beyond words about Twilight, and she won't shut up about the dreamy bloodsucker dude, some jamoke named Robert Pattinson. He will suck her allowance dry, if nothing else. This movie is going to be massive.

Total number of millions in ticket sales for Twilight: O/U: 70.4

That's the Quantum of Solace number from last week...and I'll take the over. Your sister's gonna go twice. Between that and the cartoon dog thing called Bolt, avoid movie theaters like the plague this weekend people...the shorties will run the place.

Agree with these? Got some of your own? Email mattyspiegs@yahoo.com.

Ask the Writers -- Answers Edition!

After hours and hours of deep deliberation and time debating at length all the ins and outs of the New York Giants organization, from the potential draft picks this upcoming off-season, to the reason the Giants used to wear those awful red jerseys...we finally have the answers to your questions.
Apologies if we did not get to yours, but rest-assured knowing that we will do this again soon and will certainly find time to hit other people's questions. But for now, here are the answers:

SEAN CARROLL

- fanfor55years:
Q: Who among the current members of the roster do you expect to see gone next season?

A: This is always a tough one to say unless there is a really obvious answer a la Edgerrin James in Arizona. Additionally, there can be tons of different possibilities here, so I will go with the ones I believe are most possible.

First and foremost, the sad reality is that Derrick Ward will probably be scooped up by another team. He won’t get the money he deserves here and he has earned the right go be a starter somewhere else…he’s learned how to shine and I respect whatever decision he makes. So look for Mr. Ward to be on a team hurting for a quality RB with some experience under his belt. Next I would say that Sinorice Moss is likely nearing the end of his time with the Giants. He wanted to “shock the world” but aside some junk-time TD’s against Seattle, he has not done much of anything. He had his shot, but now it’s time to go. The last Giant I see leaving, and I’m sure I’ll take some heat for this, is Amani Toomer. He’s still a player, still a contributor, still a clutch guy on the field…but he’s one of the eldest guys out there and he knows it’s high time he step aside.

- DEMO3356:
Q: Why is there no attempt to get anything out of Sinorice Moss? Why not try and get his speed and explosiveness out there. Use him like Philly uses Jackson with some quick hitters, End arounds, Screens or at least have him return kicks. My concern is if he is not going to be used why didnt they Activate Tyree who at least contributes big time on Special teams?

A: DEMO, as you saw in my answer above, I see Moss as a lost cause. He may have some quick burst speed, but the fact is that he’s a small guy who has dropped a lot of passes and has not done a single thing to set himself apart from the rest of the bench players. I think there was a lot of hope in Moss but not a lot of turnout, so his departure is on the horizon. As for Tyree, I think they had other needs for the roster spots. With Hixon being a proven threat now, they got to keep him on the roster and out on the field while keeping Moss on the bench for whenever he’s needed. Not to mention we also have two kickers and an otherwise full-house. Tyree’s locker in Giants Stadium may very well have been kept intact only because he’s a Super Bowl hero. Hixon is better in almost every way, plain and simple.

- MentalHockey:
Q: Do you think the Giants will try to sign Ward to a long-term contract? How much will their ability/inability to lock-up Jacobs play into their decision? And if we don't sign Ward, is the front office going to be content with Ware and/or Droughns as the backup(s) or will we target a RB sometime during the offseason?

A: I honestly have no idea. My guess is that the Giants will not hang on to both Jacobs and Ward, and due to Jacob’s being a phenomenon and an anomaly, they simply have to keep him. I’m sure they would love nothing more than to keep the running game the way it is, but after playing like they have been, the demands from Ward and Jacobs will be too much for the Giants (again, this is all speculation, but I feel confidant in it). My guess is Jacobs does not want to be anywhere but in NY/NJ and the team feels the same…no way he leaves. Droughns is definitely not anything more than a last resort at this point. Ware is a “wait-and-see” situation, but certainly looks promising. However, Ahmad Bradshaw is just salivating at the thought of being the alternate to Brandon Jacobs and given everything we have seen from him, we should be salivating too. All that being said, I would love to have Jacobs, Ward and Bradshaw as the trio once again next year…but it just ain’t gonna happen.

- norm:
Q: If the Giants repeat or even go deep into the playoffs, do they have even a remote chance of hanging onto Spags?

A: I would say yes. Steve Spagnuolo is a tremendous coordinator and I’m sure he’ll be courted every off-season. However, the bottom line is that his heart is in NY right now. Plus, he’s being smart. By waiting around and racking up a few years under Coughlin where he continues to take this defense to the top and helps bring the Giants to the playoffs/Super Bowl (knock on wood), he is only padding that resume so that he can more or less write his own ticket when he does decide to leave…not to mention demand a big, ole’ paycheck. So yes, I see no reason we have to automatically wave goodbye to Spags just because we do well.

HAZEM KISWANI

- daburton:
Q: As I see it, Plaxico is bound to kick it back into high gear at some point. With that said, which matchups do you like for Plaxico in the weeks to come and which game do you think it finally clicks again between him and Eli?

A: Well, this is possibly the worst slump of Plaxico Burress' career with the Giants. He has been seeing a lot of double coverage, a lot of attention in pass defense, and the Giants do have other weapons to get the football to. That said, the Giants expect more from Burress. According to Coughlin's comments about Plax the last two weeks, Burress has been practicing well and he's itching to have a big game. Fortunately for Plaxico and the Giants offense, the Giants next three matchups come against Arizona, Washington, and Philadelphia. Burress has seen plenty of success against Philadelphia and Washington in his time with the Giants, and Arizona does not have the cornerbacks to match up well with Burress, especially considering the fact that Rod Hood is nicked up for the Cards.

- csherm91:
Q: I know its way too early to talk about the draft but what names have stuck out to you as possible choices for us?

A: Very early sherm, but of course everybody loves some draft talk. Watching the Giants this season, it's been really tough to find weak areas on either side of the ball. That said, the approach the Giants take come draft time will largely depend on what they can do with their potential free agents as well as the healthy return of Osi Umenyiora and development of young players like safety Michael Johnson, cornerback Terrell Thomas, and young linebackers Jonathan Goff and Bryan Kehl.

In the end, you still have to think the defense is the side of the ball the Giants are more concerned with upgrading. Names to keep an eye and ear to include two Wake Forest guys - LB Aaron Curry and CB Alphonso Smith, as well as S William Moore of Missouri, LB Brian Cushing of USC, and S Taylor Mays of USC. Now these are not necessarily guys I love, just some of the top defensive prospects that likely won't go in the top 10 of the upcoming draft.

- fanfor55years:
Q: Given how well Chase Blackburn has been playing, what are the chances that when Kehl and Wilkinson are healthy he is given a real chance to displace Danny Clark at SAM this season? Why wouldn't he be a logical choice for that spot since he's a real "downhill" linebacker?

A: If you recall back in preseason, I spoke about Chase Blackburn as a real candidate to win the weakside linebacker job, and that I felt he could do a solid job as a starter for this defense. It wasn't about physical talent or great athleticism, because that's not what Blackburn is about. It's the way he approaches the game. Now his opportunity has come and he hasn't disappointed coaches with his effort and intensity out there - something every defense needs from its linebackers. Don't expect Gerris Wilkinson to step back into this lineup anytime soon. His progress has been negated by injury after injury, and both Kehl and Blackburn have done more to warrant playing time now and in the future. As for the SAM spot, Danny Clark has quietly been very solid for the Giants. I believe he remains in the lineup, but even when Kehl comes back - you may see a platoon between he and Blackburn at the weakside spot. Blackburn is a guy that's going to give you 100% and do all he can to help his team win, and coaches trust guys like that out on the field.

- arigsbee:
Q: Who do you realisticly see the G-Men locking back up after this season? I know several players, including Jacobs, Webster, Ward, Tollefson, Dockery and others are going to need extensions. Who of these guys do you see us keeping around? Also, with some older vets like RW, Madison, Toomer, Droughns, Carney, etc...who do you see sticking around...and who do you see leaving?

A: With guys like McQuarters, Droughns, and Carney - you can almost be certain that those guys won't be back next season. Both Droughns and McQuarters are bottom of the roster guys that will likely have to give way to rookies and young talent next season. As for the running backs, I don't see any way the Giants let Jacobs get to free agency. Jacobs really embodies what this football team is - a physical, tough, wear you down football player that's too essential to the success of the offense to let walk. Couple that with the fact that Jacobs genuinely wants to remain with this team, and you have to think that the two sides will get something done in the near future. Ward however, will be very difficult to keep around. I'm almost certain that a team will step up and offer him a four or five year deal with starting running back money.

One very interesting situation is that of Amani Toomer. While still a very solid receiver that can contribute to this team, there are some young guns behind him really pushing for more playing time, including Domenik Hixon and rookie Mario Manningham. Toomer doesn't look like a guy ready to hang up the cleats, and his role will likely decrease as this season goes on and we go into next season. So it's certainly going to be interesting to watch that play out.

DAN MURPHY

- arigsbee:
Q: When Osi
returns next season, how do you view Kiwi's role? Do you think he'll
play at LB, and move to DE on 3rd downs and move Tuck to DT...or do you
see him as a rotational DE?

A: Great question – it is
certainly thought-provoking, isn’t it? To me, there is absolutely no
doubt that Kiwanuka continues to learn the LB position after Osi comes
back next season. While he is a sure-shot defensive end who delivers
predictable and consistent results, Kiwanuka will be most valuable to
us in the linebacker position. Let’s face it, when Osi Umenyiora
returns to the line, he is an upgrade over Kiwanuka. Not to take
anything away from Kiwi, but let’s not forget how valuable The Chief is
to this team and what a natural (Pro Bowl) pass rusher he is. I will
say this, and this might help give some better direction to my
answer…in case of repeated injury, the Giants are much better of with
Kiwi continuing to learn the strong side linebacker position. With him
being cultivated to become a permanent fixture there, the Giants can
reap the benefits of Mathias at LB and also will have an insurance
policy at DE should another need arise. I say this because I believe
in Kiwanuka as a SAM. In fact, he was starting to show signs of
permanent promise at the strong side before the injury to Osi. As far
as Tuck moving to DT on 3rd down, isn’t it already a foregone
conclusion that will happen regardless? Tuck is great lining up as a
tackle in certain situations and I don’t feel that will end –
regardless of who fills in at LE. If I didn’t believe Kiwi is a guy
who could handle that position, then it would be a no-brainer. In
addition to this, depending on our personnel next season (players and
coaches), don’t count out Mathias being used as an end in certain
situations. An argument can be made for both sides here but I think
the decision to move him to LB remains the correct one.

- troplaya:
Q:
If and when we beat Carolina for the number one slot in the NFC, what
do we do for the final game of the season? Do we approach the Vikings
the same way we went about last year in week 17, play everyone. Or do
we do what all of the other teams who lost in the playoffs did last
year. Rest the starters??

A: Who’s doper than Tropa?
Good question. Man, did I struggle with this one in the past. Last
season was such a roller coaster of emotion not only for us but for the
Giants as well. Last year, looking back on it, the 2007 Giants needed
that game to get charged up for that great postseason run. It’s simple
– without the decision to play that game like it was week one, the
Giants do not get to the Super Bowl. The Giants looked like a
completely different team in the playoffs because of that game against
the Patriots. So the question surfaces yet again- do we do the same
(if possible) and hope history repeats itself? I say no. I say that
if the situation presents itself that we rest our guys. I answer with
that for three reasons. First, there is too much to be lost in a
meaningless game at the end of the year. I feel that the only reasons
we went at the Pats like we did in week 17 was because we owed to all
of the NFL to attempt to stand in New England’s way and because the
coaches didn’t feel we were ready. The Vikings will hardly pose such a
concern and there isn’t the same confidence to be gained against a
mediocre team. But there is much to be lost. Look at what is
happening to MeanBearPig Jacobs this week. For that reason it is not
worth it. Secondly, doing as well as you have in the regular season,
you have earned a right to have an opportunity to rest your men and
gear up for another postseason run: take the opportunity to do so.
Lastly, this Giants team doesn’t need a “keep your players in game
mode” game. This is one of the most mature and intelligent teams in the
NFL and if the last 12 months have not reflected that, then what have
we proven? Last year, yes…this year, absolutely not. Take two weeks
off (with the bye) and come to play. We are not Indianapolis…Coughlin,
Spags, and Flaherty won’t allow complacency or a lack of preparation to
ensue.

- daburton:
Q: Does Kenny Philips have
the starting safety spot under control or does James Butler take what
was his when he returns back from his injury?

A: It is
definitely something to think about. I feel that bringing Butler in
after his recovery is counterintuitive. In most situation, when a
player gets injured it gives an opportunity for another guy who steps
in and then, in turn, relinquishes the position when the original guy
returns. However, there is a different dynamic here. We already knew
that Phillips was going to be the guy for the future at the safety
position but he need to get his feet wet, study the position, and
become more experienced. Sometimes there is no better way to procure
that experience than to just throw them out there (i.e. Eli Manning
against 5 of the 6 best defenses in the NFL in his first season). It
wasn’t necessarily the same circumstance but Butler got injured and
that is exactly what has occurred. To put Butler back in as a starter
would be foolish and retard the progress of Kenny Phillips. KP isn’t
inexperienced enough to hurt the team so why the hell not now? He is
already an upgrade over Butler because he can inflict that big hit that
can energize a defensive squad. You hear a lot of talk about how smart
Butler is on the field but I don’t care about that over the raw talent
that KP possesses. I feel better having Butler rotate in for Phillips
rather than the other way around. Kenny is the starter now and to
place Butler back in would be retroactive in a bad way.

- norm:
Q:
Is there a chance that the Giants lose Marc Ross to a GM position
somewhere? Given that he has been instrumental in helping Reese
orchestrate back to back boffo drafts, you'd think his stock as a
prospective GM is probably pretty high right now. Are you guys aware if
he's on the radar of any teams who might be looking for a GM this
offseason?

A: Boy, have we had some studs in scouting and
player personnel over the years haven’t we? Marc Ross is just the
latest addition to our prized stable. The answer is no for the next
few years, Norm. Ross, who was only 34 when he took aver boss duties
of the scouting department has simply not cut enough wood to afford a
GM title just yet. While his stock, unlike the market, is rising every
week, Ross is very green and not ready for that responsibility as soon
as next season. A couple of questions must be answered for Ross to
have eventual appeal as GM type. One, how much of his current system
is an extension of the Acorsi/Reese machine? And, can he take a team
that is in a trough and build them into a great team with the draft?
Ross hasn’t has the opportunity for either just yet. Hypothetically,
which won’t happen, the teams that would love a hot-shot new GM would
include: Oakland, Cincinnati San Francisco, Kansas City, Washington,
and Seattle. As far as I know, Marc Ross isn’t being looked at right
now. I am more worried about Steve Spagnuolo’s future here.

Fantasy Football Week 12 Rankings - Kickers

With the fantasy football playoffs looming ever so close the Bruno Boys are once again here to remind you not to forget about your kickers. It is an important position to your fantasy team. Many owners reaped the benefits of a huge Monday night game from Cleveland Browns kicker Phil Dawson who kicked five field goals and scored 17 points. On the opposite end of the spectrum were fantasy owners who left New York Giants kicker John Carney in their starting line-up. The Giants deactivated Carney before game time in place of a now healthy Lawrence Tynes. Keeping Carney in their starting line-up cost many owners their game this week and possibly a playoff birth.

We have just showed two examples of why starting the right kicker is so important. Last week 10 different kickers scored in double figures so make sure you start the right kicker, because at this point of the season a kicker can be the difference between making and missing the fantasy football playoffs.

Enjoy the Week 12 version of the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Weekly Rankings – Kickers.

--------------------

1. Mason Crosby (Green Bay Packers) @ New Orleans

Mason Crosby has proved that 2007 was not a fluke. He is once again proving to be a must start kicker on a weekly basis. Crosby has averaged 10+ points over his last five games and he should have another big game this week in a dome on Monday night.
Point Projection: 13 points

--------------------

2. Matt Bryant (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Detroit

Matt Bryant is tied for the league lead hitting 24 field goals this season. He has been one of the most consistent kickers in fantasy football this year. Bryant has a great match-up as the Buccaneers travel to Detroit to face the winless Lions who play in a dome and give up more then 36 points a game at home.
Point Projection: 12 points

--------------------

3. Phil Dawson (Cleveland Browns) vs. Houston

It’s time to give Phil Dawson some respect. He has hit 13 field goals in the Browns’ last four games without a miss, including five field goals Week 11. With the Browns’ offense coming to life with Brady Quinn at the helm, expect another big game this week as the Browns host the Texans.
Point Projection: 12 points

--------------------

4. Stephen Gostkowski (New England Patriots) @ Miami

Stephen Gostkowski has hit 13 field goals in 14 attempts over the Patriots’ last five games. He is averaging more then 10 points a game over that span. Expect another double-digit effort this week against Dolphins.
Point Projection: 11 points

--------------------

5. Neil Rackers (Arizona Cardinals) vs. New York Giants

Neil Rackers started the season a little slow mainly due to the fact that the Cardinals were not settling for field goals too often, but in the last two weeks Rackers is seven for seven on FG attempts. There should be a few more FG attempts coming this week as the defending Super Bowl Champs come to town.
Point Projection: 11 points

--------------------

6. Jason Elam (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Carolina

Jason Elam started the season as one of the hottest kickers. He has only had six FG attempts the past three games, but he has hit five of them. Coming off a tough home loss to the Broncos Week 11 look for the Falcons and Elam to rebound with a big game.
Point Projection: 10 points

--------------------

7. Garrett Hartley (New Orleans Saints) vs. Green Bay

The kicker position has been an issue for the Saints this season. They may have found the answer in Garrett Hartley. He has made all five FG attempts in his two weeks with the team. Hartley is averaging 10 points a game; look for this to continue this week.
Point Projection: 10 points

--------------------

8. Matt Prater (Denver Broncos) vs. Oakland

Matt Prater has a big leg, but has struggled a bit of late. Look for a bounce back week at home in the thin air of Colorado as the Broncos take on the division rival Oakland Raiders. However, make sure their is no snow in the forecast at game-time come Sunday.
Point Projection: 10 points

--------------------

9. John Kasay (Carolina Panthers) @ Atlanta

John Kasay has been a solid kicker all year missing only one field goal in 19 attempts. He should be in line for a big game as the Panthers travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons.
Point Projection: 9 points
|
--------------------

10. Robbie Gould (Chicago Bears) @ St. Louis

Robbie Gould has been held to two and three points respectively each of the past two weeks. Traveling to St. Louis to play the once again struggling Rams seems to be the perfect remedy to get the Bears and Gould back on track.
Point Projection: 9 points

--------------------

11. Nate Kaeding (San Diego Chargers) vs. Indianapolis

After a rough outing in bad weather conditions in Pittsburgh Week 11, expect Nate Kaeding to rebound when the Chargers host the Colts. He should rebound with a nice game this week.
Point Projection: 9 points

--------------------

12. Shaun Suisham (Washington Redskins) @ Seattle

Shawn Suisham has only scored 10 points over the last two games as the Redskins have struggled. A game against a bad Seattle Seahawks team might be exactly what Washington and Suisham need to get back on track.
Point Projection: 9 points

--------------------

13. Ryan Longwell (Minnesota Vikings) @ Jacksonville

Ryan Longwell may be one of the most inconsistent kickers this season if you look at weekly points, but he has only missed five field goals in 23 attempts. If you like to play your kicker based on match-ups, play Longwell this week against the Jaguars.
Point Projection: 9 points

--------------------

14. Rob Bironas (Tennessee Titans) vs. New York Jets

It has been touchdown or bust for the undefeated Titans lately as they have only offered Rob Bironas two FG attempts total the past two weeks. Look for a couple more FG attempts this week as the Titans host the much improved New York Jets.
Point Projection: 9 points

--------------------

15. Joe Nedney (San Francisco 49ers) @ Dallas

The San Francisco 49ers have played much better the past two weeks. The Niners offense scored five touchdowns Week 11 against the Rams. Joe Nedney hit all five extra points, but was held without a FG attempt. The Cowboys will likely hold the 49ers to a couple FG attempts this week.
Point Projection: 8 points

--------------------

16. David Akers (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Baltimore

David Akers has hit his last nine field goal attempts, but he only has seven points in each of his last two games. The Eagles have only offered him three FG attempts in those two games and you should expect more of the same against the Ravens.
Point Projection: 8 points

--------------------

17. Lawrence Tynes (New York Giants) @ Arizona

The Giants stunned many fantasy owners by deactivating the leagues top-scoring kicker John Carney and starting Lawrence Tynes. Expect New York to stick with Tynes the rest of the way and he should have a solid day in what could be a high scoring affair in the desert this week.
Point Projection: 8 points

--------------------

18. Rian Lindell (Buffalo Bills) @ Kansas City

Rian Lindell had a pretty good game Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns despite missing a 49-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter that would have given the Bills a victory. He did manage nine points in the game and he has a solid match-up this week against the Chiefs. Lindell is worth a start if you need him.
Point Projection: 8 points

--------------------

19. Kris Brown (Houston Texans) @ Cleveland

Kris Brown has yet to miss a kick this season, but he doesn’t get enough attempts to be considered a weekly start. Consider Brown a low-end starter this week as the Texans travel to Cleveland to play the Browns.
Point Projection: 8 points

--------------------

20. Nick Folk (Dallas Cowboys) vs. San Francisco

The return of Tony Romo at QB was supposed to spark the Cowboys and Nick Folk to a big game Week 11. The Cowboys won, but Folk was left without a FG attempt for the second straight week. Keep an eye on Folk heading into the playoffs, but make sure you see some results before you start him.
Point Projection: 7 points

--------------------

21. Josh Brown (St. Louis Rams) vs. Chicago

Josh Brown has been up and down this season. He has not been consistent enough to be a reliable fantasy starter on a weekly basis. The Rams have a tough match-up this week against the Bears. Brown would be better served on your bench rather then your starting line-up.
Point Projection: 7 points

--------------------

22. Dan Carpenter (Miami Dolphins) vs. New England

After back-to-back double-digit outings Weeks 8 and 9 Dan Carpenter has slowed down along with the Dolphins offense. Consider Carpenter a low-end kicking option, as he does not get enough FG attempts on a regular basis.
Point Projection: 7 points

--------------------

23. Jay Feely (New York Jets) @ Tennessee

Jay Feely would be ranked higher this week, if not for two reasons. First the Titans have been stingy all year. Secondly with Mike Nugent healthy who knows how long Feely will remain active.
Point Projection: 7 points

--------------------

24. Josh Scobee (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Minnesota

Josh Scobee started the season as one of the hottest kickers, but has cooled off substantially. He has not had more then two FG attempts in a game in six weeks. Consider Scobee a number two kicking option at this time.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

25. Jeff Reed (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Cincinnati

Jeff Reed has only missed one field goal this season, but his attempts have been limited and Heinz Field is a tough place for kickers due to its open-end design. Consider Reed a low-end option this week, even against the Bengals.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

26. Adam Vinatieri (Indianapolis Colts) @ San Diego

Adam Vinatieri had by far his biggest week of the season when he kicked four field goals and scored 15 points as the Colts beat the Texans Week 11. It was the first time all season Vinatieri scored more the seven points, so it would be hard to expect a repeat performance against the Chargers this week.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

27. Olindo Mare (Seattle Seahawks) vs. Washington

Olindo Mare has only had two FG attempts in the past three weeks and with the Seahawks continuing to struggle this trend may continue. Mare is not worth a roster spot at this point.
Point Projection: 5 points

--------------------

28. Sebastian Janikowski (Oakland Raiders) @ Denver

Sebastian Janikowski has proved over the course of this season that he still has a big leg, but playing for the Raiders does not offer him enough chances to score points consistently. You can’t afford to take a chance on him this close to the playoffs.
Point Projection: 5 points

--------------------

29. Jason Hanson (Detroit Lions) vs. Tampa Bay

It is an extreme shame that Jason Hanson plays for the Detroit Lions. He has hit six field goals this season of 50 yards or more, but he only has 14 attempts. Playing in Detroit continues to keep Hanson near the bottom of these rankings.
Point Projection: 5 points

--------------------

30. Matt Stover (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Philadelphia

After scoring nine plus points each weeks 7-9 Matt Stover was starting to look like a starting fantasy kicker, but since then he has only managed 4 points in each of the next two weeks. Stover is not reliable enough to be a starting fantasy kicker.
Point Projection: 5 points

--------------------

31. Conner Barth (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. Buffalo

Connor Barth has yet to miss a kick since taking over as the Chiefs starting kicker Week 8. The problem is he plays for the Chiefs and just doesn’t get enough opportunities. He is not worth a roster spot.
Point Projection: 5 points

--------------------

32. Shayne Graham (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Pittsburgh (Thursday)
Shayne Graham has only had five FG attempts in the past five weeks. He has hit four of them, but he does not get enough attempts to warrant a roster spot on fantasy teams this season.
Point Projection: 4 points

--------------------

WEEK 12 RANKINGS (click to view)

Quarterbacks
Running Backs
Wide Receivers
Tight Ends
Kickers
Team Defense

week 12 approaching, we are nearly 75% done with the NFL season, which means fantasy playoffs are rapidly approaching. To ensure that your season doesn't end prematurely, be sure you have the right guys going for you as we head into the weekend. To help you out, the Bruno Boys offer the Week 12 Start Em & Sit Em report.
--------------------

QUARTERBACKS - START 'EM

Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys) vs. San Francisco

So, we know that Romo's first game back wasn't quite what his owners were hoping for as the Cowboys' quarterback finished the day with just 198 passing yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs against the Washington Redskins. However, there were some things to take solace in from Romo's Sunday Night Performance. First and foremost, it had to bring a sigh of relief to see Romo make it through all 4 quarters. Then, there was his completion percentage. Hitting on 19 of 27 passes, Romo posted a completion percentage of 70.3, not too shabby. Those two items have us looking forward to his week 12 match-up with the San Francisco 49ers, who rank 25th against the pass. Look for Romo to be the 15-20 point fantasy scorer you're used to as the Niners are allowing 234.9 passing yards per game and have given up 15 passing TDs on the year.

Eli Manning (New York Giants) @ Arizona

Manning has managed to throw for at least one TD in every week, except for week 1 (though he did find pay dirt on a run that week). That streak should continue in week 12 as Manning gets set to face an Arizona Cardinals defense that has given up the most passing TDs on the year in 19. This one figures to be a high scoring affair, so be sure to have Manning in your line-up and reap the benefits.

Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Cincinnati

We understand that the 8 INTs to just 1 TD in his last 4 games have you frustrated, but Big Ben did play well in week 11, posting 308 yards in the snow. Yes, he didn't find pay dirt, but he also didn't complete a pass to the opposing team, a big step on the road to redemption. Big Ben's last strong fantasy outing came 5 weeks ago in a 16 point effort. That outing was against these very Bengals. The journey towards redemption will benefit greatly.

--------------------

QUARTERBACKS - SIT 'EM

Philip Rivers (San Diego Chargers) vs. Indianapolis

For the first time this season, Rivers failed to put up double digit fantasy points in a game as the top rated pass defense of the Pittsburgh Steelers, with some help from the snow, shut him down in week 11, leaving Rivers with just 2 fantasy points. The good news is that the weather shouldn't be a factor in week 12 as the game will be played in San Diego. The problem is that the Colts' pass defense is nearly as stingy as the Steelers. In fact, the Colts are tops in the league, allowing just 2 passing TDs on the season. Rivers will have to wait until week 13 to see double digit points once more.

Brett Favre (New York Jets) @ Tennessee

Favre's match-up with the Tennessee Titans looks like trouble. Being the gunslinger that he is, Favre takes chances, and while most of the time he can get away with it, that won't be the case against the Titans, a team that feasts on opposing quarterbacks. On the year, the Titans have allowed only 5 passing TDs, while tallying 15 interceptions. Thats 3 interceptions for every TD allowed, and that's math that scares us away from Favre for week 12.

Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Carolina

Last week, Ryan's streak of 14+ point outings came to an end at five as the Falcons' quarteback managed just 9 fantasy points against a Denver Broncos' pass defense that ranks 29th in the league. Chances are he won't be able to get to 14 or more again this week as the Carolina Panthers offer a much tougher opponent. The Panthers are giving up under 200 passing yards per game and have allowed just 8 passing TDs on the year. In fact, they've already held Ryan to just 7 fantasy points in their first meeting. This is a match-up in which you should sit the rookie.

--------------------

RUNNING BACKS - START 'EM

Marshawn Lynch (Buffalo Bills) @ Kansas City

While the Bills fell to the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night this past weekend, blame cannot be put at the feet of Lynch, who did all he could to get Buffalo the W. Lynch touched the ball 33 times, carrying it 23 times, while hauling in 10 receptions. The result was 177 total yards and a TD, good for 22 fantasy points, a monstrous week. Another one should be in the works as Lynch takes on the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Chiefs are no longer the worst rush defense in the league, they aren't much better, ranking 31st. Ride the former Cal Bear to glory in week 12.

Ryan Grant (Green Bay Packers) @ New Orleans

Grant's owners are rejoicing as it appears the 2007 version of Grant that won fantasy football owners' hearts is back. In week 11, in a tough match-up with a stout Chicago Bears' rush defense that allows less than 90 rushing yards per game, Grant went off for 145 yards on 25 carries, adding a score for good measure. That's three outings of 13 or more fantasy points in the back's last 4 games. He's got a good thing going and it should continue against the 19th ranked rush defense of the New Orleans Saints.

Warrick Dunn (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Detroit

Timing is everything, and with Earnest Graham now grounded for the year and Cadillac Williams still in the garage, Dunn becomes the Bucs' featured back at exactly the right moment. This week, Dunn gets set to face the Detroit Lions. Now, the Lions are now officially the league's worst rush defense, giving up a wretched 171.5 rushing yards per game to go along with 17 rushing TDs on the year. The diminutive back should be in for a big day.

--------------------

RUNNING BACKS - SIT 'EM

Michael Turner (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Carolina

While Turner has gone for 13, 15, and 20 fantasy points over the last 3 weeks, don't forget his M.O. Against poor rush defenses, Turner is a beast. Against stronger opponents, he's more a mouse. The Panthers qualify as the latter as they've allowed opposing runners to find the end zone just 5 times on the year. The Panthers limited Turner during the teams' first match-up on the grid iron, and we bet they do it again.

Kevin Smith (Detroit Lions) vs. Tampa Bay

Like Chris Johnson and Matt Forte, Smith is another rookie runner that is catching fantasy owners' eyes in 2008, especially with 3 straight double digit outings the last 3 weeks. But, remember, more than not, rookies have their ups and downs, and this one should be a down week for Smith. After all, the Bucs have allowed a paltry 1 rushing TD on the year.

Tim Hightower (Arizona Cardinals) vs. New York Giants

Here today, gone tomorrow. The Hightower hype has been silenced as the Cardinals' running back has gone for a measley 7 fantasy points in his last two games against two pretty poor rush defenses in the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. It's tough to imagine him doing anything against the staunch line of the New York Giants, especially with J.J. Arrington, who played solidly against the Seahawks, stealing some carries.

--------------------

WIDE RECEIVERS - START 'EM

Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) @ San Diego

It hasn't exactly been party time or excellent in Wayne's world of late as the Colts' wide receiver has just one double digit outing in the Colts' last 5 games. Even with Manning's improved play of late, Wayne hasn't been able to match the numbers he put up just last season. If there was ever a week for Wayne to live up to his superstar status, this is it as he'll battle it out Sunday against the league's worst pass defense in the San Diego Chargers.

Santana Moss (Washington Redskins) @ Seattle

The Jekyll and Hyde of wide receivers, Moss either goes big or apparently goes home. This week against the Seahawks, who just edge out the Chargers for that precious 31st ranked spot among pass defenses, he should go big. In fact, we have ranked in the top 10 among wide receivers in our week 12 rankings.

Wes Welker (New England Patriots) @ Miami

Welker may not have put up the best game against the Miami Dolphins earlier this season, hauling in 6 catches for just 55 yards; however, it needs to be remembered that that was only Matt Cassel's second start since high school. The quarterback has played much imporved since then, leading to an increase in Welker's numbers. In fact, the wide out has topped the century mark in each of the Pats last two games. 100 yards is a very real possibility in this one, too.

--------------------

WIDE RECEIVERS - SIT 'EM

Jerricho Cotcher (New York Jets) @ Tennessee

Cotchery played admirably in week 11, putting forth an excellent effort that included one of the craziest one handed catches of the season. The solid effort yiedled a 12 point fantasy performance and gave Cotchery his first TD since week 4. Anticipating another quick six in week 12 would be a mistake, though, as Cotchery takes on a Titans' defense that has given up just 5 passing TDs on the year.

TJ Housmandzadeh (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Pittsburgh

Housh put up his third 20 point performance this past weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles in the first tie in the NFL since 2002. Sadly, those three 20+ point outings are the only double digit performances Housh has on the year. It will stay that way after week 12 as Housh meets up with the Steelers' and their number one ranked pass defense. A defense that held the receiver to just 5 fantasy points in week 7.

Vincent Jackson / Chris Chambers (San Diego Chargers) vs. Indianapolis

Neither wide receiver has been able to reach the double digit plateau during the Chargers' last two games, something that is very likely to happen again in week 12 as the Colts come to town. Indy is one of the better pass defenses in the league, especially with Bob Sanders, who's expected to play in this one, on the field. They've given up just two passing TDs on the year. That's only one every five games. Stay away from the Chargers' duo.

--------------------

TIGHT ENDS - START 'EM

Chris Cooley (Washington Redskins) @ Seattle

Among tight ends, only Jason Witten (583) and Tony Gonzalez (583) have more yards than Cooley (576), but, as mentioned in our week 12 tight end rankings, where Cooley is lacking is in the touchdown production as the Redskins' tight end has just one on the year. Enter the Seattle Seahawks. Ranking 31st in the league, the Seahawks pass defense has given up 15 passing TDs on the year. Keeping that stat in mind, we like Cooley's chances to get TD number 2, this weekend.

--------------------

TIGHT ENDS - SIT 'EM

Jeremy Shockey (New Orleans Saints) vs. Green Bay

Don't you think it's a bad sign when owners' are taking solace in a bounce back 39 yard effort? Yes, the 8 targets Shockey saw in week 11 were a pleasant surprise and suggest that Shockey may have a role in this Saints' offense after all, but we're not jumping on the Shockey bandwagon just yet, especially with a week 12 match-up with the 3rd best pass defense looming. Keep holding off.

--------------------

KICKERS - START 'EM

Phil Dawson (Cleveland Browns) vs. Houston

When it comes to fantasy kickers, you want to look for two things. The first is identifying which kicker in the league is hot. With 4 staright double digit outings and a perfect 13 for 13 on field goals over the Browns' last 4 games, Dawson definitely qualifies as such. Second, you want to find a good match-up to exploit. You can't complain about a week 12 battle with a Houston Texans' defense that's allowing 28.7 points per game. For those reasons, make sure Dawson is in your line-up.

--------------------

KICKERS - SIT 'EM

Matt Stover (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Philadelphia

In both week 10 and week 11, Stover managed a measley 3 fantasy points. Week 10's poor outing was simply a result of the offense being too efficient as the Ravens punched it in time after time rather than settling for the field goal. Meanwhile, week 11's poor showing was due to a solid defensive opponent in the form of the New York Giants. Look for week 12's match-up with the Philadelphia Eagles to be a repeat of week 11.

---------------------

DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS - START 'EM

Tennessee Titans vs. New York Jets

For the exact same reason that Brett Favre is a sit in week 12, the Titans' defense is a must start. With 15 interceptions on the year, the Titans know how to take advantage when quarterbacks force the issue, something Favre does routinely. This should be a game in which they add at least 2 to that interception total, if not more.

---------------------

DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS - SIT 'EM

San Diego Chargers vs. Indianapolis

The Chargers gave up their second lowest amount of points last weekend, allowing the Steelers just 11 points. However, don't be fooled by that number and think the Chargers will start playing like the top rate defense they were projected to be prior to this season. More than anything, tough weather conditions kept the Steelers' out of the endzone. Indy won't have to deal with snow in California this weekend, and as a result, they should be able to light up the scoreboard in this one.
--------------------

WEEK 12 RANKINGS (click to view)

Quarterbacks
Running Backs
Wide Receivers
Tight Ends
Kickers
Team Defense

The answers to those questions were:

1. When you click on, "PLAY & WIN," which game comes up next to the XBOX 360 console?
A: Tiger Woods '09

2. When you go to "ELIGIBLE TITLES", what are the LAST THREE WORDS in the description (the paragraph you can scroll through)?
A: Online Simultaneous Play

3. When you click on "STAR IN YOUR OWN TIMES SQUARE BILLBOARD," what word is visible below the big NASCAR '09 game box?
A: NASDAQ

We had a number of entries with a LOT of kind words (thank you for that, fellas), but in the end I chose one of the winning entries at random....and....the winner of the Giants 101 Gillette "CHAMPIONS OF GAMING" Tournament Giveaway is......DANIEL SIRIANNI!

Daniel nailed the questions and was the lucky name drawn from the winners! Daniel, please email me (at the same email you sent your entry to) your mailing address and we'll get your copy of MADDEN NFL '09 out to you shortly! Congratulations!

Additionally, for those of you interested in the "Champions of Gaming" Tournament, I've included information below.

"Gillette is sponsoring the "CHAMPIONS OF GAMING" tournament where anyone with an XBOX Live account can log on to the tournament and play from the following games: Madden NFL '09, NBA '09, Tiger Woods PGA Tour '09, NASCAR '09, Soccer '09.

Once you choose the game you want to play, you will be entered into some qualifying rounds. If you make it through those and become a finalist in your region (there is North America, Asia and Europe), you will be flown down to Orlando, FL to play in the Final Round for your specific EA Sports game.

If you win it all, you get a chance (depending on schedule/availability) to play one of five BIG NAME athletes...who we can not reveal, but I assure you they are high-profile...and may or may not be on the cover of one of the games."

Thanks again and stay tuned for the next Giants101.com contest that is JUST around the corner! :)

Week 12 Thursday Night Preview - Bengals @ Steelers

--------------------

CINCINNATI BENGALS

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick always manages to get some fantasy points despite some mediocre performances. This week he’s playing at Pittsburgh, a team that will have no problem shutting him down.
Point Projection: 8 Points

--------------------

RB Cedric Benson

First of all, kudos to what Benson has done with his second opportunity. He is now really starting to put up decent yardage. Unfortunately it comes at a stretch in which he has bad match up after bad match up. He will most likely struggle against the Pittsburgh and their top rated defense.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

WR TJ Houshmandzadeh (Cincinnati Bengals)

Housh was back in a big way in week 12, hauling in 12 passes for 149 yards and a score against the Eagles. Unfortunately, things won't go so well for the Bengals' wide receiver in this week's battle with the other Pennsylvania football team. Look for the Steelers to hold Housh in check, much like they did in week 7, limiting him to just 58 yards.
Point Projection: 8 points

--------------------

WR Chris Henry (Cincinnati Bengals)

With Chad Ocho Stinko being suspended for Week 12 because of a violation of team rules Henry should step in and claim the WR2 spot in Cincinnati. However, the Steelers sport the best pass defense in the NFL and their is snow in the forecast. Stay away from Henry this week.
Point Projection: 2 points

--------------------

WR Chad Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals) **INACTIVE**

After just three fantasy points last week it's safe to call Chad Johnson "Ocho Stinko" again. Plus,he violated team rules and will not play tonight when the Bengals travel into Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. Owners should plan accordingly.
Point Projection: 0 points

--------------------

K Shayne Graham (Cincinnati Bengals)

Shayne Graham has only had five FG attempts in the past five weeks. He has hit four of them, but he does not get enough attempts to warrant a roster spot on fantasy teams this season.
Point Projection: 4 points

--------------------

D/ST Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have a below average shot at turnover points, so there is no reason at all to play them.
Bruno Boys Stars: *

--------------------

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

QB Ben Roethlisberger

It’s a bit hard to peg Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger this week. On one hand, he’s the guy that threw for 216 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in a week seven win over the Bengals. At the same time he’s that guy that’s thrown eight interceptions and just one touchdown in the four games since beating the Bengals. Expect something in between.
Point Projection: 14 Points

--------------------

RB Willie Parker

When he has played this year, which hasn't been often, he usually produces very solid numbers. This week he takes on a Bengals defense that can be ran on without much effort. Parker has averaged 13 FPPW which makes him an excellent choice to play in start-2 leagues.
Point Projection: 17 points

--------------------

RB Mewelde Moore (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Moore has the matchup to make some big plays but the fact that Willie Parker will see the majority of the carries limits his chances. His primarily role will be in the Steelers passing game and he should only be considered as an option in deep leagues.
Point Projection: 4 points

--------------------

WR Hines Ward (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Prior to week 10, Ward had not posted one game of 100+ receiving yards this season. He's hit that mark in each of the Steelers' last two games. He may not reach the century mark again this weekend, but feel confident starting him regardless as Ward has posted 238 receiving yards and 5 TDs in the Steelers' last 3 meetings with the Bengals.
Point Projection: 13 points

--------------------

WR Santonio Holmes (Pittsburgh Steelers)

It feels as if Holmes is just on the verge of returning to his 2007 form; however, he just can't seem to get there. Perhaps a week 12 match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals will do the trick as Holmes had his second best yardage day of the season against these Bengals, putting up 89 yards against them in their first match-up of the season.
Point Projection: 9 points

--------------------

WR Nate Washington (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Washington has seen his production drop drastically following his three double digit performances from week 5 to week 8 as he's tallied just 5, 3, and 1 fantasy points in the Steelers' last 3 games. There's a chance for success in week 12 as the Bengals were one of the team's Washington burned for double digit fantasy points, but his recent numbers make us weary.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

TE Heath Miller (Pittsburgh Steelers) **Check Status**

Miller practiced in full on Wednesday and is ready to return to action for the first time since Week 9. The Bengals surrendered a touchdown to tight end L.J. Smith last week and with Ben Roethlisberger targeting the middle of the field Miller could be in line for a solid return game. What holds us back from ranking him higher is the fact that it's expected to snow in Pittsburgh on Thursday night.
Point Projection: 5 points

--------------------

K Jeff Reed (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Cincinnati
Jeff Reed has only missed one field goal this season, but his attempts have been limited and Heinz Field is a tough place for kickers due to its open-end design and the expected snow. Consider Reed a low-end option this week, even against the Bengals.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

D/ST Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers have a very good chance at turnovers as well, which puts them over the top and makes the the Bruno Boys defensive play of the week.

Bruno Boys Stars: * * * * *

--------------------

WEEK 12 RANKINGS (click to view)

Quarterbacks
Running Backs
Wide Receivers
Tight Ends
Kickers
Team Defense

Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) vs. San Francisco

After suffering broken ribs a few weeks back Witten hasn't been his consistent self. However much of the blame has to go to the fact that Tony Romo has been out of the lineup. With Romo back in the lineup and a top notch match up against San Francisco we fully expect Witten to be back to his old routine in Week 12. How does 80-85 receiving yards and a touchdown sound?
Point Projection: 14 points

--------------------

2. Dallas Clark (Indianapolis Colts) @ San Diego

Over the past five weeks Clark has played a big role in the Colts offense and nothing should change against the 32nd ranked Chargers secondary. San Diego is worst in the league at defending the tight end and Clark torched them in last years playoff meeting. Start him with confidence.
Point Projection: 13 points

-------------------

3. Chris Cooley (Washington Redskins) @ Seattle

Cooley has 21 receptions over the past three games but no touchdowns to show for it. His 55 receptions are tied for tops at the tight end position but his one touchdown reception is far off his projected pace. The Seahawks have allowed 15 passing touchdowns in ten games so we fully expect to have some wiggle room and score for the second time this year.
Point Projection: 12 points

-------------------

4. Greg Olsen (Chicago Bears) @ St. Louis

When the match up has been right Olsen has put together some solid performances this year and this week should be no different. The Rams have allowed 15 passing touchdowns this year, they surrendered one to tight end Vernon Davis last week and should have trouble defending the physical and agile Olsen.
Point Projection: 11 points

--------------------

5. Bo Scaife (Tennessee Titans) vs. New York Jets

Scaife has been quarterback Kerry Collins favorite target and nothing should change when the Titans take on the New York Jets, who rank 29th in pass defense. Plus, the Jets have allowed over 7 fantasy points to the tight end position in two of their last 3 games. Scaife is our sleeper play in Week 12.
Point Projection: 11 points

--------------------

6. Antonio Gates (San Diego Chargers) vs. Indianapolis

Last week, Gates had a tough match up and he could only muster 10 receiving yards on two receptions. Things won't get easier this week as the Chargers take on a Colts defense that has allowed just two passing touchdowns thus far. However, the Chargers are in panic mode and they realize that if they are going to win this football game they have to get Gates involved. His yardage totals might not be worth your time, but we fell he scores a short yardage TD to salvage the day.
Point Projection: 9 points

--------------------

7. Tony Gonzalez (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. Buffalo **Check Status**

Touchdown Tony is nursing a injured knee but the Chiefs expect him to suit up when they take on the Bills on Sunday. The veteran has at least give receptions in 5 straight games and he should have no trouble adding to that streak this week, even against a stout Bills pass defense.
Point Projection: 8 points

--------------------

8. Owen Daniels (Houston Texans) @ Cleveland

Daniels has just two receptions and 2 fantasy points over the last two games but he has been Sage Rosenfels scape goat in the past and we expect Rosenfels to get back to basics this week. The Browns played inspired defense against the pass last week but they are just 1-4 at home this year and have actually been torched against the pass when defending their home turf.
Point Projection: 7 points

--------------------

9. Zach Miller (Oakland Raiders) @ Denver

As anemic as the Raiders offense has been Miller has been a decent fantasy option. He averages 43 yards per game, has a 14.8 yard per reception total and has been quarterback JaMarcus Russell's reliable target. Plus, Denver has allowed some big games to the tight end position (see Kellen Winslow) which makes Miller a solid low end TE1.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

10. Visanthe Shiancoe (Minnesota Vikings) @ Jacksonville

You never know what you are going to get out of Shiancoe on a weekly basis but he usually produces against passing defenses that have trouble defending the middle of the field. That can be said about the Jaguars, who have allowed 18 passing touchdowns thus far. Even if Shiancoe has gets shutdown yardage wise, you have to like his touchdown chances in Week 12.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

11. Kevin Boss (New York Giants) @ Arizona

Not only did Boss go without a touchdown for the first time in three week, he was also held with a catch during the Giants 30-10 Week 11 victory. However, things should change when the Giants held to Arizona to take on a Cardinals pass defense which has allowed a league worst 19 passing touchdowns. This game should be high scoring and Boss could play a big role in the Giants outcome.
Point Projection: 6 points

-------------------

12. Jerramy Stevens (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Detroit

With Alex Smith's status in doubt for Week 12 it shoots Stevens up the charts. With Smith missing last week match up against the Minnesota Vikings, Stevens went for 84 receiving yards on six receptions. This week, he has the match up to do the same. If you are looking for a one week fill-in at the tight end position Stevens could be your guy.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

13. Benjamin Watson (New England Patriots) @ Miami

Alright, so part of this ranking is based on his big Week 11 (14 fantasy points), but the other part is based on the fact that Matt Cassel played his first complete game as an NFL quarterback. If Cassel continues to spread the football around like he did last week the bulky tight end could have significant value moving forward. Don;t be surprised if he makes it two straight weeks with a touchdown.
Point Projection: 6 points

--------------------

14. Dustin Keller (New York Jets) @ Tennessee

At some point during the season we knew Keller would emerge as a solid contributer in the Brett Favre led offense, and the time is finally here. The rookie tight end has 14 receptions for 194 receiving yards and a touchdown over the past two games but it's his match up this week that keeps him from being a top 10 TE option.
Point Projection: 5 points

--------------------

15. Jeremy Shockey (New Orleans Saints) vs. Green Bay

Shockey factored into the offense for the first time since returning last week, he had six receptions for 39 receiving yards to go along with eight targets. We like Shockey's value moving forward but don't expect much this week against the Packers and their 3rd rated pass defense.
Point Projection: 5 points

--------------------

15. Tony Scheffler (Denver Broncos) vs. Oakland

Scheffler has been banged up of late and his statistics have taken a hit because of this. He was held without a catch last week and has been forced to play sparingly in attempt to recover from a nagging groin injury. If he is healthy enough to take the majority of snaps this week you can expect him to hover around 45-50 receiving yards.
Point Projection: 5 points

-------------------

17. Heath Miller (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Cincinnati **Check Status**

18. Marcedes Lewis (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Minnesota

Lewis, best known for being a red zone threat, hasn't scored in four games but he does have a great match up to get healthy in Week 12. The Vikings secondary just allowed Jerramy Shockey to torch them and if David Garrard finds time to throw the football Lewis could make for a sleeper play in a TD-only league.
Point Projection: 4 points

--------------------

19. Todd Heap (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Philadelphia

Despite having just three receptions for 16 receiving yards, Heap did see six targets last week. Still, he has burned fantasy owners way to many times to really consider him as an option. Think long and hard before you take the risk, and if you play him and it doesn't pan out... we told you so.
Point Projection: 4 points

--------------------

20. L.J. Smith (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Baltimore

Smith did score a touchdown last week and the Ravens have allowed 12 passing touchdowns in ten games, but you can't expect much from the Eagles heading into Baltimore this week. Brian Westbrook is banged up, Donovan Mcnabb is struggling and the Ravens defense is primed to bounce back after getting drilled by the Giants last week. Still, he red zone ability makes him a weekly consideration.
Point Projection: 4 points

--------------------

21. Steve Heiden (Cleveland Browns) vs. Houston

With primary tight end Kellen Winslow's status in doubt due to a sprained shoulder it looks like Heiden will get the start in this game. Filling in for Winslow earlier this year, Heiden had 59 and 73 receiving yard performance. We expect the Browns to pound the football alot in this game, but if Winslow sits you can rely on Heiden to get between 35-45 r
