If you haven't done so yet this season, make it a point to watch an Arizona Cardinals game. Doing so, will allow you the pleasure of witnessing perhaps the greatest wide receiver duo the NFL has ever seen in Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. Just last week, the dynamic duo combined for 337 receiving yards with Boldin going for 186 and Fitz notching 151 against the Seattle Seahawks. The only problem in watching the pair is that they make it look so easy, you wonder why your fantasy wideouts can't do the same. But, take note because one wide receiver, Reggie Wayne, is projected by the Bruno Boys to surpass the Cardinals' duo this week. Where do the rest of the wide receivers rank in week 12? Just check out the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Week 12 Wide Receiver Rankings to find out.
--------------------
1. Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) @ San Diego
It may seem crazy to not have Boldin and his 186 receiving yards from week 11 atop this list, especially when Wayne has just one double digit outing in his last 5 games, but Peyton Manning is back to being Payeton Manning, and this match-up with the 32 ranked pass defense of the San Diego Chargers is just too juicy to pass up. Look for Wayne to put up his best outing of the year in this one.
Point Projection: 20 points
--------------------
2. Anquan Boldin (Arizona Cardinals) vs. New York Giants
13 receptions for 186 yards, but no touchdowns? What happened to Boldin last week? After all, he had caught at least one TD pass in each of his last 6 games. Looks like his owners will just have to put up with that sub-par week 11. In all seriousness, Boldin is a beast and needs to be in your line-up each week that he's on the field. He probably won't get 186 yards in week 12 against a strong Giants' pass defense, but he'll get enough to go along with a TD or two to give him another great week.
Point Projection: 18 points
--------------------
3. Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) vs. New York Giants
Watching the Cardinals-Seahawks game, it looked as if Kurt Warner, Anquan Boldin, and Larry Fitzgerald were just playing pitch and catch. Fitz may be occupying the role of a second receiver on his team due to the stellar season Boldin is having, but in going for 10+ points in 8 of 10 games this seasons, he's an obvious WR1 for fantasy purposes.
Point Projection: 16 points
--------------------
4. Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) @ Cleveland
After 5 straight double digit performances, Johnson has been held to 6 and 5 points during the last two weeks. However, his owners should sleep easy as those sub-par outings came against two of the better pass defenses in the league in the Ravens and the Steelers. The Texans continue their march through the AFC North in week 12 in a match-up with the Browns. We have no doubt that Johnson will start a new double digit streak against their 22nd ranked pass defense.
Point Projection: 16 points
--------------------
5. Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Carolina
Despite racking up his fifth 100 yard receiving game, White will be looking for redemption in week 12 thanks to a crucial drop in the endzone late in the Falcons week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos. A motivated White should lead to good things against a Panthers' defense he already burned for 90 receiving yards back in week 4.
Point Projection: 14 points
--------------------
6. Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers) @ Atlanta
The improvement wasn't as drastic as we envisioned for Smith in week 11. Following his 1 catch for 9 yards in week 10, we felt a big day was in store for the wide out against the Lions, but with just 6 catches for 59 yard, Smith didn't live up to expectations. In his defense, though, those 59 yards were 58% of the Jake Delhomme's passing yards. Smith has another strong match-up this week against the 21st ranked pass D of the Falcons, a team in which he put up 15 fantasy points against in week 4, but his performance will once more be dependent on Delhomme, a risk you need to take.
Point Projection: 14 points
--------------------
7. Terrell Owens (Dallas Cowboys) vs. San Francisco
The return of Tony Romo didn't quite help T.O. as the wideout managed just 3 points for the fourth time in the Cowboys' last 5 games in week 11. Week 12, though, should bring better fortune as the wideout will take on the 49ers, who are allowing 234.9 passing yards per game. T.O. always plays better against his ex-employers. His 20 points against the Eagles in week 2 demonstrate that.
Point Projection: 14 points
--------------------
8. Brandon Marshall (Denver Broncos) vs. Oakland
The Broncos torched the Raiders in the teams' first meeting this season 41 to 14. In that game, Jay Cutler threw for 300 yards and 2 TDs. Sadly, due to a suspension, Brandon Marshall was not on the receiving end of any of that. He'll make up for that in week 12, even if he has to faced arguably the leagues top cover cornerback in Nnamdi Asomugha.
Point Projection: 14 points
--------------------
9. Santana Moss (Washington Redskins) @ Seattle
Moss really has been hit or miss this 2008 season, tallying 13 or more fantasy points in 5 games, while notching 2 or less in 4. Against the 31st ranked pass defense of the Seahawks, which has allowed 265.2 passing yards per game and 15 passing TDs on the year, look for him to add to the group of 13 or more.
Point Projection: 14 points
--------------------
10. Plaxico Burress (New York Giants) @ Arizona **GAME-TIME DECISION**
When you average over 170 rushing yards per game and 5.3 yards per carry, there isn't a whole lot of reason to throw the ball. That, coupled with the fact that Eli Manning is more willing to spread the ball around than in prior years, has severely limited Burress' value this 2008 season. In fact, the only thing keeping his numbers respectable are the three TDs he's had over the Giants' last 6 games. He should be able to add one this week against a Cardinals' defense that has allowed 19 passing TDs on the year.
Point Projection: 13 points
--------------------
11. Greg Jennings (Green Bay Packers) @ New Orleans
With 5 of his first 6 games going for 10+ fantasy points, it appeared the transition from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers would be a seemless one for Jennings, but prior to his 12 points in week 11, Jennings had posted three straight games of 7 or less fantasy points. The week 11 outing is a promising sign, especially with a match-up against the 26th ranked pass defense on the docket.
Point Projection: 13 points
--------------------
12. Hines Ward (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Cincinnati
Prior to week 10, Ward had not posted one game of 100+ receiving yards this season. He's hit that mark in each of the Steelers' last two games. He may not reach the century mark again this weekend, but feel confident starting him regardless as Ward has posted 238 receiving yards and 5 TDs in the Steelers' last 3 meetings with the Bengals.
Point Projection: 13 points
--------------------
13. Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions) vs. Tampa Bay
It's scary to think what Johnson could do if paired with a good quarterback or if he was part of a strong offense. After all, despite the Lions lack of offensive competency and despite the team's quarterback troubles, Johnson has gone for 9 or more fantasy points in 6 straight games. He'll have a tougher time hitting that mark in week 12 against a Bucs team that is 4th in the league against the pass, but we've learned not to bet against Megatron, especially since the Bucs have allowed 13 passing TDs on the year.
Point Projection: 12 points
--------------------
14. Lee Evans (Buffalo Bills) @ Kansas City
It's a bit of a risk placing Evans in the top 10 this week seeing as he has just 6 fantasy points in the Bills' last three games, including a big goose egg in week 11, but Evans is just too talented and has such a nice match-up that we can't help it. Plus, Evans does have a tendency to go off just when everyone is giving up on him and placing him on their benches.
Point Projection: 12 points
--------------------
15. Marques Colston (New Orleans Saints) vs. Green Bay
Perhaps we should switch Lance Moore with Colston on this list as Moore has been the better receiver in each of the Saints' last 3 games. Still, while Moore has been hot of late, Colston is the top talent. The Packers play the pass tough, but we have faith that Colstson's 140 yard outing in week 10 wasn't an aberration. This guy's a stud and he should show it soon.
Point Projection: 12 points
--------------------
16. Randy Moss (New England Patriots) @ Miami
Granted, Moss was on the receiving end of just 26 of quarterback Matt Cassel's 400 passing yards in week 11, but Moss' owners have to take comfort in the fact that the Patriots' quarterback was able to throw for four bills as it's proof the QB is coming into his own. If that maturation continues, Moss could be in for some solid days to close out the 2008 season.
Point Projection: 12 points
--------------------
17. Braylon Edwards (Cleveland Browns) vs. Houston
so much for Brady Quinn not showing Edwards the love. Quinn targeted the wide receiver 16 times in week 12, helping Edwards to collect his second 100 yard game on the year. A third is a strong possibility against a Texans' team that ranks 17th against the pass.
Point Projection: 11 points
--------------------
18. Wes Welker (New England Patriots) @ Miami
The catches have been there all season long. The yards have steadily been climbing. Now, if only Welker could add the quick sixes, he'd be back to being a number 1 wide receiver option. Still, his owners have to be pleased the wideout's riding two 100+ yard games into his match-up with the 19th ranked pass defense of the Dolphins.
Point Projection: 11 points
--------------------
19. Eddie Royal (Denver Broncos) vs. Oakland
Prior to the Broncos first game with the Raiders this season, no one had really heard of Eddie Royal, but 146 yards and a TD later, the Broncos' wideout was a household name and a much desired waiver wire commodity. If you were the lucky one to snag him up, feel good about Sunday's rematch.
Point Projection: 11 points
--------------------
20. Marvin Harrison (Indianapolis Colts) @ San Diego
The 13 fantasy points from week 11 are nice, especially when you consider Harrison's struggles this season, but what has us even more excited about Harrison as we head into week 12 is the 13 targets he received this past weekend. If he gets anywhere near that in week 12, he'll post another solid fantasy day, this time against the Chargers' 32nd ranked pass defense.
Point Projection: 10 points
--------------------
21. Lance Moore (New Orleans Saints) vs. Green Bay
If you were to "drop it like it's hot," you may send Moore packing as the Saints' wideout has been on fire of late, going for 13+ fantasy points in each of the Saints' last three games; however, rather than drop Moore, why not continue to ride the hot hand?
Point Projection: 10 points
--------------------
22. Bernard Berrian (Minnesota Vikings) @ Jacksonville
Berrian has cooled down of late, thanks in part to two tough match-ups, one with the 3rd ranked pass defense of the Packers and the other with the 4th ranked pass defense of the Bucs. Things should get better for Berrian in week 12 as he'll face the Jags and their 18th ranked pass defense. Ironically, 18 is also the number of passing TDs the Jags have allowed in 2008.
Point Projection: 10 points
--------------------
23. Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. Buffalo
Nike may want to rethink launching their "Bo knows..." campaign, though this time around, they could use Chiefs wide out Dwayne Bowe. One thing Bowe does know is how to put up fantasy points. While Bowe had his first huge day of the season, going for 17 fantasy points in week 11, the man had tallied 7-10 fantasy points in all but one of the Chiefs first 9 games. He's a consistent and solid WR2 play.
Point Projection: 9 points
--------------------
24. Antonio Bryant (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Detroit
It may be hard to fathom, but Bryant is one of the top 25 wide receivers when it comes to yards per game. He should be able to move up the chart after week 12 as he matches up against a Lions' team that ranks 23rd in the league, giving up 230.2 passing yards per game.
Point Projection: 9 points
--------------------
25. Justin Gage (Tennessee Titans) vs. New York Jets
Injuries sidelined Gage and a potential sleeper season earlier this year. Apparently, in coming back, Gage is wide awake. Fantasy football owners take notice as Gage has put up 10 and 26 points in the last two weeks. He makes for a potential WR2 against a Jets defense that ranks 28th against the pass.
Point Projection: 9 points
--------------------
26. Santonio Holmes (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Cincinnati
It feels as if Holmes is just on the verge of returning to his 2007 form; however, he just can't seem to get there. Perhaps a week 12 match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals will do the trick as Holmes had his second best yardage day of the season against these Bengals, putting up 89 yards against them in their first match-up of the season.
Point Projection: 9 points
--------------------
27. Donnie Avery (St. Louis Rams) vs. Chicago
Da' Bears are not good at defending Da' pass, evidenced by their 30th rank. Avery, who put up over 90 receiving yards in week 11, should be able to capitalize. The Rams are a mess, which does make Avery somewhat of a risk, but seeing as they'll more than likely be trailing and playing catch-up, he should have enough opportunities to off-set that risk.
Point Projection: 9 points
--------------------
28. Kevin Walter (Houston Texans) @ Cleveland
Surprisingly, Walter has outproduced Andre Johnson in 3 of the last 4 weeks. He's becoming a more consistent WR3 play and should be used as such this weekend as he takes on a Cleveland pass defense that has allowed 219 passing yards per game and 13 passing TDs on the season.
Point Projection: 9 points
--------------------
29. Jerricho Cotchery (New York Jets) @ Tennessee
Cotchery found pay dirt for the first time since week 4 this past week to go along with 87 receiving yards against the Pats. Can he make it two weeks in a row? Most likely not as he faces a Titans' pass defense that has given up a measley 5 passing TDs on the season.
Point projection: 8 points
--------------------
30. TJ Houshmandzadeh (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Pittsburgh
Housh was back in a big way in week 12, hauling in 12 passes for 149 yards and a score against the Eagles. Unfortunately, things won't go so well for the Bengals' wide receiver in this week's battle with the other Pennsylvania football team. Look for the Steelers to hold Housh in check, much like they did in week 7, limiting him to just 58 yards.
Point Projection: 8 points
--------------------
31. Deion Branch (Seattle Seahawks) vs. Washington
It wasn't a bad return for Branch in week 11 as the receiver's 54 receiving yards was tops for the team. However, we suggest you let Hasselbeck and Branch take one more week to work the rust off before utilizing them for fantasy purposes, especially since week 12 brings with it a match-up with the 12th ranked pass defense of the Redskins.
Point Projection: 7 points
--------------------
32. Donald Driver (Green Bay Packers) @ New Orleans
Many thought his 19 point week 9 effort against the Titans meant Driver was revitalized, but with just 10 fantasy points since, it seems fair to conclude that Driver is no more than a WR3 at this point in his career with the occasional big game. This week won't be one of those big games, but it will be a solid outing for Driver.
Point Projection: 7 points
--------------------
33. Anthony Gonzalez (Indianapolis Colts) @ San Diego
While Peyton Manning threw 46 passes in week 11 against the Houston Texans, only 3 went Gonzalez's way. That's the life of a team's 3rd receiver and a risk you live with when you start one. That risk may just be worth taking in week 12 as the Colts face the worst pass defense of the league.
Point Projection: 7 points
--------------------
34. Torry Holt (St. Louis Rams) vs. Chicago
Holt hit the 60 yard mark for just the 3rd time this season in the Rams' week 11 game against the 49ers. With that being the case, needless to say, Holt's streak of 1000 receiving yards, a number he's hit for 8 straight years, will be coming to an end. A disappointment all season long, Holt makes nothing more than a WR3/flex play, even with a match-up with Da' Bears 30th ranked pass defense.
Point Projection: 7 points
--------------------
35. Kevin Curtis (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Baltimore
The 12 targets Curtis received from McNabb in week 11 were 4 more than any other wide receiver received. He's emerging as the go-to-guy for Donovan, which isn't a bad place to be. Lining up against the Ravens, though, is a bad spot to be.
Point Projection: 7 points
--------------------
36. Derrick Mason (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Philadelphia
Owners of Mason have to like the receiver more and more each passing week. After weeks of 19 and 6 fantasy points, Mason toughed out a shoulder injury to the tune of 82 yards against the second best pass defense in the league in week 11. He's becoming a steady WR3 option. Might we say Mr. Consistent is back?
Point Projection: 7 points
--------------------
37. Bobby Engram (Seattle Seahawks) vs. Washington
The Seahawks finally have all the pieces to the puzzle back; unfortunately, it took this until week 11 for that to happen. The team will continue to shake off the rust moving forward; however, wait for that to happen before you rely on any Seahawk.
Point Projection: 6 points
--------------------
38. Jabar Gaffney (New England Patriots) @ Miami
Gaffney was the biggest benefactor of Matt Cassel's monstrous week 11, hauling in 7 of 11 of Cassel's passes for 86 yards and a score. It was almost as if Tom Brady was back under center. Gaffney is still a risky play as he has just 35 points on the season despite the 16 point week 11, but Gaffney did have 11 of those 35 points in the teams first meeting with the Dolphins.
Point Projection: 6 points
--------------------
39. Roy E. Williams (Dallas Cowboys) vs. San Francisco
The move to the Cowboys hasn't changed the fact that Williams can't get it done on the field. In fact, this season the wideout has just one double digit game, way back in week 1. His owners are hoping that now that Romo is back on the field, the two can build a rapport, but it's probably safer to wait for proof before utilizing Williams.
Point Projection: 6 points
--------------------
40. Nate Washington (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Cincinnati
Washington has seen his production drop drastically following his three double digit performances from week 5 to week 8 as he's tallied just 5, 3, and 1 fantasy points in the Steelers' last 3 games. There's a chance for success in week 12 as the Bengals were one of the team's Washington burned for double digit fantasy points, but his recent numbers make us weary.
Point Projection: 6 points
--------------------
41. Vincent Jackson (San Diego Chargers) vs. Indianapolis
Last week against the league's top ranked pass defense, Chargers' quarterback, Philip Rivers, was limited to just 159 yards, 0 TDs, and 2 INTs. This week things don't get much easier as Rivers will take on a Colts' defense that ranks 9th in the league, allowing under 200 passing yards per game. Making things even bleaker for Rivers and the Chargers' passing game is the fact that the Colts have allowed just two passing TDs on the year, meaning Jackson will make it 3 weeks in a row without a score.
Point Projection: 6 points
--------------------
42. Chris Chambers (San Diego Chargers) vs. Indianapolis
If the above write up for Vincent Jackson doesn't make you want to sit Chambers this week, how about you keep him out of your line-up because he's averaging just 2 points over his last 3 games? Does that work for you?
Point Projection: 5 points
--------------------
43. DeSean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Baltimore
The rook is averaging a healthy 65.2 yards per game this season; too bad he's also averaging just 0.1 receiving TDs per game. Against a pretty staunchy Ravens' pass defense that ranks 8th in the league that TD number isn't likely to go up. With Kevin Curtis back in the mix, McNabb's beginning to look elsewhere and so should you.
Point Projection: 5 points
--------------------
44. Brandon Lloyd (Chicago Bears) @ St. Louis
Lloyd's owners must be none too please that the wideout missed so many favorable match-ups, only to return against the 3rd best pass defense last week in the Green Bay Packers. Lloyd's less than stellar 17 yards were the result. He has a chance to bounce back in week 12 versus the Rams, who rank 24th against the pass, but during a crucial run to the fantasy playoffs, there are safer options out there.
Point Projection: 5 points
--------------------
45. Amani Toomer (New York Giants) @ Arizona
While Toomer is a key component to the Giants' team, mentoring the younger wide receivers, that doesn't translate into fantasy points. In fact, Toomer's mentoring could be losing the wideout some opportunities as Manning is now willing to rely on more than just him and Burress. A steady 50 yards is a reasonable expectation for week 12.
Point Projection: 5 points
--------------------
46. Laveranues Coles (New York Jets) @ Tennessee **QUESTIONABLE**
Tennesse has allowed just five passing touchdowns in 10 games and with Coles struggling of late you can't take a chance on him. He has just 92 receiving yards since week 9 and has been playing musical chairs with Jerricho Cotchery for top dog in New York.
Point Projection: 5 points
--------------------
47. Matt Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Minnesota
Jones missed week 11 with a thigh injury but if he can play this week you should consider him as a Flex play depending on your roster depth. He has five catches in all but 1 game he's played in and with the recipe for success against Minnesota involving throwing the football Jones should have plenty of opportunity.
Point Projection: 5 points
--------------------
48. Antwaan Randle El (Washington Redskins) @ Seattle
Randle El started off hot but with the Redskins offense taking a nose dive he has been on the decline. If it wasn't for his matchup against the 31st rated Seahawks pass defense he would be further down our list. However, with Seattle allowing 23 completions per game he should be in line for 3-5 receptions in week 12.
Point Projection: 4 points
--------------------
49. Rashied Davis (Chicago Bears) @ St. Louis
Davis has just one reception in each of the last two games but his matchup against St. Louis is too good to overlook. He has had some success with Kyle Orton under center and one of the Bears receivers should shine in this game. What keeps us from ranking him higher is with Devin Hester, Marty Booker, Greg Olsen, Desmond Clark and Davis their are too many mediocre options in Chicago.
Point Projection: 4 points
--------------------
50. Steve Breaston (Arizona Cardinals) vs. New York Giants
Breaston has been one of the biggest surprises at the wide receiver position thus far, but we can't help but point out that he has been below average in two of his last three games. He had just two receptions for 15 yards last week and was targeted a season low three times. With a tough matchup against the Giants, and Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin stealing the show you might look elsewhere this week.
Point Projection: 4 points
--------------------
51. Ted Ginn Jr. (Miami Dolphins) vs. New England
Against Oakland, Ginn Jr. showed off his playmaking abilites on his 40+ yard touchdown run. Don't expect the Patriots to be fooled by that play, but Ginn Jr. did have five receptions against them last meeting and he is playing the best football of his career right now.
Point Projection: 4 points
--------------------
52. Michael Jenkins (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Carolina
Last week, Jenkins had his fifth straight game in which he had at least 5 fantasy points but you cant expect much from him this week. The Panthers have shut him down in the past and they sport the leagues 5th rated pass defense. Look elsewhere if you can.
Point Projection: 4 points
--------------------
53. Brandon Jones (Tennessee Titans) vs. New York Jets
The emergence of Kerry Collins and the Titans passing attack has made Jones a popular plug-n-play on a weekly basis. Despite going for just 23 yards last week he did score a touchdown and has a great matchup against the pourus Jets secondary.
Point Projection: 4 points
--------------------
54. Bryant Johnson (San Francisco 49ers) @ Dallas
Johnson went for 11 fantasy points in week 11, which is three more points than he combined for from week's 3-10. Talk about being inconsistent. Still, we feel that with Shaun Hill at quarterback and Josh Morgan hurting he could possess some value in this game.
Point Projection: 4 points
--------------------
55. Michael Clayton (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Detroit
If you are into playing matchups, Clayton should be considered a deep sleeper this week. The Lions have allowed 16 passing touchdowns in ten games and Clayton has at least three receptions in 3 straight games. He should get 35-45 receiving yards and don't be surprised if he scores his first TD since 2006.
Point Projection: 3 points
--------------------
56. Ronald Curry (Oakland Raiders) @ Denver
With as bad as the Broncos pass defense has been someone had to be ranked on the Raiders. Plus, Curry had his best game of the season last week, hauling in six receptions for 73 yards. We aren't targeting him as a sleeper this week, but don't be surprised if he has another decent showing.
Point Projection: 3 points
--------------------
57. Muhsin Muhammad (Carolina Panthers) @ Atlanta
Last week, Muhammad had the matchup to produce against a terrible Lions defense and he could manage just one reception for 16 yards. We blame a large part of his downfall on the play of quarterback Jake Delhomme. Let Delhomme find his groove before you think of using the veteran as your WR3 or Flex option.
Point Projection: 2 points
--------------------
58. Chris Henry (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Pittsburgh
With Chad Ocho Stinko being suspended for Week 12 because of a violation of team rules Henry should step in and claim the WR2 spot in Cincinnati. However, the Steelers sport the best pass defense in the NFL and their is snow in the forecast. Stay away from Henry this week.
Point Projection: 2 points
--------------------
59. Devin Hester (Chicago Bears) @ St. Louis
If you are thinking of playing Hester you must already know it comes with a high risk/reward disclaimer. He had just one reception last week but has the matchup to produce against a Rams defense that allows 233 passing yards per contest. However, his outcome is unpredictable.
Point Projection: 2 points
--------------------
60. Greg Camarillo (Miami Dolphins) vs. New England
After becoming a hot waiver wire option a few weeks back Camarillo has been chopped down in size over the past two weeks. He has just five fantasy points since week 9 and the Dolphins are starting to feed Ted Ginn Jr. the ball, thus making him better suited for your bench.
Point Projection: 2 points
--------------------
NOTABLE WEEK 12 WIDE RECEIVERS
Chad Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals) **INACTIVE** - After just three fantasy points last week it's safe to call Chad Johnson "Ocho Stinko" again. Plus,he violated team rules and will not play tonight when the Bengals travel into Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. Owners should plan accordingly.
