Welcome to this year's final edition of Busts, and although it's difficult to find busts in the land of Disney, if you look hard enough; you'll find plenty. Jay Williamson tossed up the 76-74 on two of the easiest courses on Tour, and finished dead last. The final tournament of the 2008 season was about typical for every tournament this year. There has been lots of great play, lots of compelling story lines, and a lot to take away from the tournament. He's ranked 511th in the World by the OWGR. He's 190th in the Money List. He's also putting on quite a show at the Children's Network Classic. He's about halfway through his second round (as we speak), and shows no signs of letting up yet. The weather in Orlando has been perfect; the courses appear easier than usual, and the scores are super-low. Our course(s) this week are among the two easiest on Tour; the Magnolia and Palm Courses at Walt Disney World. Conventional Wisdom (and my "kinda" wisdom) says that accuracy stats are going to be pretty low priority here. The rough is almost non-existent, and the bunkers are more like trips to the beach than a hazard. Magnolia is at about 7,600 yds, which is pretty long; Palm is at about 7,000 yds, which isn't. It's here, I'm sad to say; this is the final tournament of the 2008 season. Not only is this the last chance for all of you fine Fantasy Owners to win your respective leagues; but it's the last chance for the golfers involved this week to get themselves an exemption for 2009. It appears the number to hit to be in the top-125 is going to be right about $850,000; and there are about 10 golfers who have a legitimate shot at hitting it. For every Top Performance, there must be a bust, even though this week they're not all that pronounced. There were a few, don't get me wrong, but nothing that one would consider truly "bust-worthy". It was a great week of golf on a course that actually tested the players. That's right; shaping shots, being creative; all that came into play this week as the Ginn Sur Mer wins the award this season for "Toughest Fall Series Event". He might be the only golfer guaranteed a Tour Card next year that you haven't heard of; but this young player does have four top-10s on the year, and finds himself in a very secure 109th on the Money List. Like most younger golfers, he's still pretty inconsistent. This Tom Watson course can be summed up in one word, "long". In fact, to the detriment of a decent percentage of the field; where at approximately 7,700 yards, this course excludes from serious contention for winning. The penultimate tournament of the 2008 PGA Tour is upon us, and we move to the very underrated Space Coast of Florida to The Conservatory, a course designed by Tom Watson which is located at the Ginn Sur Mer resort. This is a monster of a course, measuring almost 7,700 yards in length. Well, this is a week for the feel good stories of the last year weeks to take a week off to slack apparently. That's going to be the focus this week; there were no excuses. Well, it really wasn't a week for the "bubble boys" around the 125 mark on the money list; it was a very good week of golf on a tougher course than it looks like at first blush. This week I'm going to do something I've never done before, and that's repeat the profile of one of the golfers in the Who Is He. Scottsdale, Arizona welcomes the PGA Tour this week; home of three PGA Tour events this season.
