  While this past offseason was filled with joy, triumph, and accomplishment this was also an offseason full of conjecture and controversy. Giant fans across the world wondered what was going to happen with the polarizing Jeremy Shockey. With reports surfacing of Shockey feeling shunned and jaded, mixed with a front-office blowout with the venerable Jerry Reese, an unceremonious exit seemed forthcoming.   It took a long time before I could muster up the cool to write down my thoughts on the loss of the best Tight End the Giants have employed since Mark Bavaro. Jeremy Shockey was my favorite Giant. I have lots of favorites; Eli Manning, Michael Strahan, Antonio Pierce...but at the end of the day, nothing was better than watching Jeremy Shockey jump up and grab a touchdown pass over the head of Brian Dawkins. Nothing was sweeter than watching #80 blast his way through some poor CB completely oblivious... • The New York Giants' Best "Boss"

  Jeremy Shockey is the New York Giants starting Tight End. He is a Pro-Bowl caliber player with size, decent speed, solid route-running abilities, good hands and a whole lot of heart. He has earned the respect of his teammates, the media and fans since his NFL debut in 2002 (where he accumulated the most yards he’s ever had in a single season, by the way). He is a proven emotional leader on the field and can block like the best of them. The New York Giants are a better team with him on the roster...
