He really just stayed in the background last year until the playoffs rolled around, and then he exploded. The guy is such a clutch player (he is, in my honest opinion, the most clutch WR in the NFL) that I always expect big things from him in big games.

I think the fact that he is a free agent-to-be and that his career with the Giants is on the line will serve as an extra motivator for him to go out there and prove that he still belongs on this team in the future.

Toomer wears his heart on his sleeve and is my favorite offensive player of all time. I just hope that, if this is his last run with the Giants (and I really don't think it will be; I see Reese re-signing him), he goes out with a bang.

I do agree that on a lot of teams having 10 rookies is a sign of lack of depth and weakness on the first teamers .But it can also mean that the team has drafted well to for several reasons , not just desperation . It COULD be a replacement now ( with this team I cant see too many spots where a rookie would be good enough to do that), OR eventually replace a player who has a couple of good years left as first teamers and the third group of take a chance projects .Also these groups have to provide cheap special teams players to keep us under the cap .So if you can get 10 rookies to make the team especially IF they are not first rounders and wont command high contracts , then you have more money to pay your experienced vets (maybe Ward ,probably wont happen , but that is what Im talking about )

Let me also throw this out there... if Mays drops to #15 then by the value chart our #1 and the NO #2 could get him for us. If Moore drops to #20 then our #1 and our #2 could get him.

Yea I know,SHut Up.We're just talking..

But damn this game cant get here soon enough. It feels like its been an entire offseason since we have seen our team play...I just cant wait for the first Snap of the game to see which way this thing is gunna go..

And Im really starting to get that good feeling about this game..I love the fact that so many are just feeding into what the Giants want...Oh the Eagles are last years Giants..Oh the Eagles are Hot,The Giants Are not,,.Oh Eli you cant Play without Plax..Oh BJ and Ward, you cant Run on us because where gunna put 8 in the Box..Oh you cant Stop Westbrook or McNabb..

We're hearing alot of what we wont be able to do.Not much about that we still are the World Champs,We still are the Number 1 Seed..Still have the Best running game in the League,Still the Best O-line.Still have the Best QB left in the Playoffs..Still have a top 5 defense..

I just Love it..I cant wait until we come out Sunday and Just Take it to this team in everyway they thought we couldn't..Im really starting to feel a blowout brewing..

THE BUZZ: He’s a tall (6-3), long-limbed cornerback with good flexibility and redirection skills for his size. Some scouts are looking at him as a possible free safety, but Smith has the foot quickness and range to be an ideal bump corner. Smith has made plays all season and has continued to fly up draft boards. His performance against Alabama WR Julio Jones in the Sugar Bowl could go a long way in determining his prospects for the 2009 draft. "

Mays, Moore, Delmas, Johnson, Chung, Hamlin, Pegues, Cook, Wiley and possibly Chip Vaughn. A couple of those might be longshots, but thats still 10 guys.

It is his first year as a starter so it is obvious that he is worn out after the long season. He has been banged up lately and played through the pain. He is getting double and sometimes triple teamed on pass plays so of course he hasn't been tearing it up lately. I feel confident that the bye week has helped him recover and get ready to go out there and be a play maker on Sunday.

He could be a great safety in the NFL. I agree that he probably is a year away from being fully ready, but I would definitely take that kid if he were available, especially because with Phillips, Johnson and Butler (and a BIG cornerback in Thomas) we already have enough that it would be okay to have Smith need a year to get himself into the lineup.

He is going to be a stud.
