Well, that was an interesting set of
picks last week. Seven drivers all in the top 24, but none of
them got a top five. A solid day in the end though.
I picked the best C list driver and two out of the top three B
list drivers.
A list drivers I had did good, but only two of the A list drivers
did poorly in the points scoring.
I felt Dale Earnhardt Jr. was a top ten driver that never
did get the caution at the right time. Finishing 18th was really solid
A list active driver:
Jeff Gordon - Fourth time on this list for Gordon. I feel this is going
another solid weekend in a row for Jeff.
He has three top five place finishes in the last six races at this track
which is really solid.
B list active drivers:
Kyle Busch - Also the fourth time on this list for Busch. This driver has one of
the best finishing averages at this track and is an unbelievable 2008 season so
far. I think he will continue his hot
season and quality finishes at this track.
Jamie McMurray - Another four-timer! McMurray has two top ten
place finishes at this track in the past six races which is nice. His past two Sprint Cup finishes have been
really good as well. A bit of gamble on
this pick, but I will take it.
C list active driver:
Brian Vickers - Sixth time on this list for Vickers. For a C list driver he
has the best data of the whole group.
He has four top 11 place finishes in the past six races at this
track. His Sprint Cup finishes over the
past few races have been solid for a C list driver as well.
Sleeper picks:
Jimmie Johnson - Another driver with super solid finish data
for this track with four top five finishes in the past six races. His finish at Bristol was junk, but has had
a bunch of great performances before Bristol.
Greg Biffle - You might want to take gamble with this
driver. His last three finishes have
been good at this track. Has been really good as of late in the finish
department on the Sprint Cup tracks.
Sam Hornish Jr. - Since C list drivers are not really great at
all at this track this is a pick and pray driver. He is in the top 35 in points so he is guaranteed a spot, but he
has been a hot driver as of late.
